Nice time to pump Trent's value AFTER the picks have been made.

Did Carl just call Trey Wingo "Zach?" No wonder noone wants to talk to that moron, he can't even get names right.

ESPN with Carl Peterson right now.

Green starting QB as of right now.

More than one team interested in Trent.

More valuable to the Chiefs than a Miami offer.

My thoughts: He's here next year guys, and starting. Green to Bowe....TOUCHDOWN!!!11!1!

Back to Peterson: No truth to the LJ trade rumors.

Interesting.

Sounds like CP has told Miami to pound sand.

Good for him.

Did Carl call him "Zach"?

Paolantonio saying that KC and Chiefs haven't talked in two days...also said that Carl lowered his price to a 4th

a 4th is reasonable, you can not blame Carl for asking

Ultra Peanut

what's he talking about?Basically, the willingness to overlook the massive character issues surrounding Thomas and trade the rest of their draft for him, as well as the seemingly unnecessary trade up to get Moss in the first.

Delano

He was merely comparing the compensation/player value.

IIRC Salisbury said something like, "lets go back to Moss. If he doesn't shape up he will not make it into the HOF."

What is that all about? Stroking the Patriots discipline knob and at the same time trying to divert attention. That has nothing to do with value. Talking about the Wes Welker deal would make sense, talking about Moss' HOF chances do not.

I won't be to mad about this pick because of 3 reasons: LJ's record-breaking carries, Bennet's injuries, and Herm's good ability to draft young talent. A reason I'm angry though, didn't we have a guy similar to him... Aaron Ross I think his name was. And, we have MUCH bigger positions of need.

Strengths:
Has more than enough leg...Range well beyond 50 yards...Better on kickoffs than he is given credit for...Has a lot of experience and was quite productive....He did everything right since the end of his college career, performing well in the East / West Shrine game and even winning the kicking portion of the All-Star Challenge.

Weaknesses:
Not as consistent as you'd prefer...Has choked in pressure situations...There are a few mechanical and technique issues that will have to be ironed out...Has some character concerns and serious off-the-field troubles that need to be looked into.

Notes:
Also lettered three years in soccer as a prep...Was suspended in '05 after being charged with felony driving under the influence following a bad car accident...Was named a 1st team All-American as a senior...Has a chance to be drafted late and can have a nice career in the pros if he's able to work out the consistency issues.

Don't hold your breath on that.

The Dolphins would have to be high to offer more than a conditional 3rd, and even that is stretching it.

And I wouldn't throw in another pick this year or next.

I would offer, if I were Mueller, a conditional 4th only, and that would be it.

Yeah, it looks like trent will be opening day qb. Carl won't let 7 mil. rot on the bench, and he won't release him or trade him for nothing. I saw Trent again @ flag football yesterday. He was coaching up a storm. He seemed very composed for a guy who could be on the way out of town.

- BTW his kid is 10 yrs old and has a better PA fake than Huard or Croyle. He looks more like his old man on the field than his old man, you would have to see it to understand.

My guess is Carl has told Trent, and did a while back that the lowest he would go is a fourth in this years draft, and not to expect getting dumped on the street. Trent responded by saying; "hurry up and trade me then", Carl says: "well lets just see how the first day pans out" and lowers his demand to a 4th. Miami says: "shove it, we will give you a six", and Trent his agent, carls, herm and all the chiefs say: "shove it, pillow biters, we will MAKE TRENT THE STARTER and he will KICK YOUR ASS MIAMI, and they
ain't shit you can do about it, so suck it bitches!"
"Oh, and Brodie, Damon, you bitches are gonna have to suck it too cause of this little feud Carl and Trent and Herm are having with MIAMI."

That's basically where we are now. We ain't got Brady Quinn, but at least we are pissed, and thats good. We should be pissed.

ESPN Scout report:

Strengths: A quick and nimble offensive tackle prospect. He's a natural knee-bender. Possesses good initial burst, takes solid angles to blocks and can get into position quickly. Shows good lateral mobility and is an effective zone blocker. Possesses good range and flashes the ability to get into position at the second level. Gets into pass set quickly and uses arms to ride edge rushers past the pocket. Has quick feet and redirect inside after starting outside. Shows good awareness, keeps head up and does a good job of picking up the blitz as well as stunts. He shows a great passion for the game and plays with a mean streak. He also has an excellent work ethic.

Weaknesses: He's undersized and needs to add bulk to his frame in order to match-up at the next level. Lacks ideal lower body strength and has problems driving defenders off the ball. Lacks the base to anchor versus powerful bull rushers. Doesn't always play under control in space and is an inconsistent cut blocker that lunges too much.

Overall: Taylor was redshirted in 2002. He then stepped in as the starting right tackle for all 13 games during the 2003 season. Taylor again started all 11 games in 2004 and all 12 games in 2005. Taylor started all 13 games during the 2006 season. He tallied 49 consecutive starts for the Horned Frogs at right tackle since taking over as a redshirt freshman in 2003.
Taylor's mobility makes him a perfect fit for a team that features zone blocking and/or values athleticism over size, such as the Colts and Falcons. He has good upside because of his feet and we like the aggressive, smart and physical manner in which he plays the game. If Taylor can get bigger and stronger while adjusting to the NFL, he could become a mid-round steal from the 2007 draft class.
