Even if they don't trade him, their past bad picks on receivers should have absolutely no bearing on drafting this guy.
He's the best in the draft... so you take him.

Just because you pick the wrong ones in the past doesn't mean you shouldn't take the right one now.

But he may be traded anyway.

You can only draft one player at a time. When this guy is far and away the best player in the draft, and plays a position that is valued by your type of offensive system... you just don't hesitate.

I think they will trade Mike Williams and then draft a QB like Beck or Edwards in the 2nd. Those guys are on par with Quinn, IMO.

To the Raiders to team with Brady Quinn?

They did what every team should do - take the best available player.

It's a joke all the people harping on this pick. Learned their lesson? This guy is about as can't miss as you can have.

Pretty much. Nobody would be saying anything if they hadn't wasted 2 high picks at that spot already.

I just like to laugh at Matt Millen. It's like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football, and Lucy is once again promising that she won't pull it away.

I like the pick. Their others haven't worked out for the most part and he was the best player on the board. What if they pick a lineman and Johnson goes to Tampa and tears up the league, like he's likely to do, and then they look like idiots for NOT taking him. They need so much help they weren't gonna make a bigger impact on their team with anyone else imo.

Something tells me that Millen is going to look like an idiot no matter what happens.

That's also highly likely.
