What's funny is we drafted a kicker who was arrested in 2005 on felony DUI charges...

If you saw him kick you'd know why........he's very accurate, he's a really really good kicker.

I could careless what he did 2 years ago. He's better than Tynes is right now.

Medlock's a good kicker. It'd be nice having both kicking positions set for the next decade.

This was our pick. We used the Dante pick to take Kolby Smith

Well since our offense is play for the field goal, it makes sense from Herm's perspective.

Yeah, what about touchbacks? The video I watched didn't show any.
And he's a southpaw like Colquitt.

I think all kickers are a gamble. They will go through slumps and get cut by a coach that won't tolerate missing. Look what Dallas did to Vanderjact. That being said "Janikowski" went in the first round didn't he?

All of our picks have filled needs and haven't been reaches what's not to like about this draft?

I'm still on Tynes' bandwagon. So I do question this pick.

Ah, this was the kicker that nailed 2 FG's during the UCLA/USC game, correct?

going DT in both 2nd and 3rd rounds i think is wasting at least one pick, and the way the chiefs have drafted DTs in the past, we probably wasted two picks.

I didn't even know we were in the kicker market.

Look what happened to Nate Kaeding. He's still a very good kicker. But he was near PERFECT in college and he's just not in the NFL.

McBride was questionable, but Tank Tyler was a great value pick

Ain't nothing weird about drafting a kicker.

Tynes was very questionable imo. The move makes sense.

McBride lacks ideal measurables but has a great motor. Tamba Hali, part 2.

Medlock was a consensus first-team All-American and unanimous All-Pac-10 first-team choice in 2006. He led the nation with an average of 2.15 field goals per game, while also leading the team in scoring with 113 points. He made all 29 extra points, extending his consecutive extra point string to 112. He connected on 28 of 32 field goals, the second-highest total in school history.

In 49 games at UCLA, Medlock scored 357 points, the second-best total in school annals. He made 79.5 percent of his field-goal attempts (70 of 88) and 147 of 148 extra-point attempts. He was successful on 31 of 42 field goals from beyond the 40-yard line, including 6 of 9 from 50-plus yards. Of his 214 kickoffs during his final three seasons, the opposition returned 137.

HERM: "He's a good, physical kicker. He can play through an injury. He can block. He runs to the football. He likes to play the game and is a leader in the locker room. " [/sarcasm]

Tynes is frustrating. He misses a lot that he shouldn't. But we still have glaring needs at O-line and CB
