www.mog.com

There is a music community I have been getting into that I think some folks around here would enjoy. It is called MOG. You don't have to register to watch or listen but it has a pretty extensive collection of songs you can hear on their site of popular and less popular artists with a very good but not quite as impressive collection of music videos.

It is socially driven but has much better quality than most things of that nature you run into. People who register get their own pages on the site with an extensive representation of your tastes either by your manual input or a little widget thing that tracks everything you listen to for good recommendations. You can also make posts with MP3's or videos uploaded into them and anytime you mention an artist that post goes into their artist section so basically you have this whole group of music people talking and trading music giving reviews and what not. It has been a really cool source for finding new groups. I just got into this band from the UK called the Bees.

Sounds a lot like www.last.fm, which is the one I have been enjoying lately.

I have been a user of Last.FM for a long time now and like it. It is very similar in its tracking ability...but MOG brings a lot more to the table as far as people interacting and content that really seems to take the form of articles. Its also easier to hear the music and video you want to get your hands on.
