View Full Version : Why pass on Branch?

Since KC ended up taking a DT in the 2nd and 3rd why not go for Branch in the first? He was a much better collegiate player than the round 2 pick and doesn't have the character questions of the 3rd pick. Although, I think Tank Tyler's character questions have been completely blown out of proportion.

According to Petro the Chiefs think he's soft. Says they wanted no part of him.

I'm guessing the Krumrie slap test did him in. The Chiefs said he's "soft".

Doesn't matter. He's going to a team where we'll never hear from him again.

We have our DT position fully built for at least the next three seasons. We're good.

I hate to break it to you, but Turk is a bust.

You want proof, I've got proof. From Prisco:

"Best pick: Second-round pick Turk McBride will be a surprise player on the next level, maybe even a Pro Bowl player. "

If Prisco likes the pick and projects him to be a Pro Bowl player, he's doomed.

Branch has stress fractures in his leg. If not he would have been a top 10 pick.

In what? The morons fantasy league? What credible source had this guy going that high? He's big and he's soft. Haven't we had enough of those clowns here? Come on now!!!? :cuss:

"Concerns about possible stress fractures or shin splints in both legs only add to a growing list of red flags about this once-surefire top 10 pick. He failed to impress at his Pro Day."

What killed Branch was his lack of consistency and effort. Once again, not what we're looking for.

While you're doing your research, please check on Ryan Simms too. A sure fire top 10 pick. I'll go with Kiper and Mike Mayok on this one.

Please, no more soft defensive linemen. We've had plenty of them.
