KANSAS CITY -- The Kansas City Royals announced that Panera Bread has cancelled their sponsorship agreement for the 2007 season. The agreement included the "Baker's Dozen" promotion, in which fans could redeem their tickets in the event the Royals collected 13 hits or more in a winning effort during the 2007 baseball season. Due to Panera's decision to cancel, the "Baker's Dozen" promotion is no longer available, effective immediately.
"The Royals are disappointed in Panera's decision to terminate the agreement, particularly because their promotion seemed to be well-received by our fans. We will continue to work with our current corporate partners and potential partners to bring Royals fans some of the most unique and valuable promotions in Major League Baseball," said Kevin Uhlich, the Royals' Senior Vice President, Business Operations.

The Royals are happy to continue with all other existing ticket stub promotions including:

They are taking the only thing we root for. It's not like they could have lost that much money the way the Royals hit in April. It's outrageous!!! :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:

Just one more reason not to go to Panera.

Panera sucks anyway. They slap a thin piece of meat on some wonder bread and charge $7 for it.

When you play like a minor league team, you get treated like a minor league team.

$1.99, yes. 6 inch turkey.

$1.99.... sheesh... even better.....

Step 1: Create massive enough disturbance in the space-time continuum to allow for a Royals win.

Step 2: Sammich!
