View Full Version : Draft websites: Your opinion.

I am trying to put together some draft info for the draft this weekend, but I am having a difficult time trying to find sites that give more than just first round selections.
Does anyone have some draft sites with better projections?
Thank you very much for any input you have!

you're welcome :)

Any draft site that has Drew Brees as part of their top 15 athletes is off base, included in that would be the Chiefs drafting him at #12.
Springfield lost all credibility with that pick. No way would the Chiefs draft Brees at #12, when in all likelihood, he could be had late 1st or early 2nd rd.
Drew Brees is Rick Mirer incarnate.
I like Boomer's site:
Likes any draftnik named "Boomer."

Springfield is good for a full 7 round mock and the most complete list of players...Their list goes way beyond and has players that probably won't even be drafted which I like...But you are right about their opinions of player value...They are off target on several players...
One glaring example is that they have Dustin McClintock FB Bama rated ahead of Moran Norris of Kansas....McClintock is the wimp who could only bench 225, 7 times and ran a 5.2 40...Norris had the combine high of 37 reps and ran a very good 40....

No doubt that they have an impressive listing of players, and I agree that they have overrated/underated may key players in the draft.
ie. No TE taken until late 2nd rd and then Heap and Crumpler taken back-to-back, Brees taken at #12, Jamar Fletcher 1st rd pick, Willie Middlebrooks a 3rd or 4th rd pick, Michael Bennett 2nd rd, etc. etc.
Of course this could all come to fruition for Springfield, but I would be shocked as hell if it did.

I didn't say I agreed with their mocks - I just stated they ARE the best draft site! They have COMPLETE 7-round mocks updated regularly. They have indexed lists of all available players per position... they have tables showing past drafts for EVERY NFL team. The site is BY FAR the most comprehensive - and best maintained.
Personally, I could not care less about 'mock' drafts - they are usually <i>way</i> off target. I do like having an indexed list of all players available at each position though! :)

~For unbiased, multi-analysis on top prospects: DRAFTNOTEBOOK (http://www.eatel.net~fjorner/draftbook/indxdraft.html) is cool....
~Sportingnews surprisingly has good info and rates about the top 20 per position: THE TSN SITE (http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/draft/players/index.html)
They also have a 7 RD mock, but like Springfield, its subject to personal opinions...
~This is a well done site with a pretty good 7 RD mock with pics of all the players for the reading impaired:
CHRIS EVANS SITE (http://eurekanet.com/~wevans/)
~Also: ALL PRO SCOUTING SITE (http://www.apssdraft.tripod.com/allproscouting/index.html)
kffl.com also has a draft bb thats pretty informal if you can stomach the Kiper wannabees 'tudes...
Heck... go to MIGUELS LINKS (http://www.nfldraftlinks.freeserver.com/index.html).... he'll point you to most on line sites..

How can you like Boomer's site when it has the Chiefs picking a running back? Are you becoming an offensive homer? :D
Even a die-hard Defensive Homer must occasionally bow to the inevitable. It is extemely unlikely that I will get my run-stuffing DT or head-hunting LB in the 1st Round.
Sometimes, it ain't easy being a Defense Homer...
Moved past denial, anger and grief and is currently striving for acceptance.

I might not give up hope too soon if I were you. If the Green trade falls through (and it looks more likely every day), the Chiefs just might go for a stud DT or LB - especially if Morgan would drop.
I really, really don't want Bennet at #12.
Based on Vermeil’s comments, it sounds like we will run DTbC. He spoke of “waves” of DLinemen. Until I read that article, I thought a run-stuffing DT at #12 was a possibility, albeit a remote one. Now I do not see any possibility of that occuring. We will not draft a DT in the 1st if we are going to platoon linemen.
Therefore, I have officially given up on Seymour at #12. I will continue to argue that it should happen, but I no have any illusions that it might happen.
Bummed, but planning on getting over it soon.

I'll be a pragmatist after training camp...until then I can hope against hope that the Chiefs draft Morgan at #12.
I'll probably be disappointed, but after the last few seasons, hope is all I have.
...got nothing to lose by wanting Morgan.
