Where do you fit in?

I don't gamble except when the Lottery gets really high. Then I'll throw in a couple of bucks with people at work, just for fun.

I buy a quick pick about once a year. Go to a casino about once per decade. Play poker for money once every 15 years.

I play poker pretty often. At one point last summer it was every night during the work week.

Also online sports betting during the football season. I used pinnaclesports.com but they recently closed down to US customers. Anyone got a recommendation for a new site?

If it were not for football wagers, I would only watch the Chiefs games. It makes games I can't stand to watch, exciting.

I usually go to Vegas once a year if possible, and get my clock cleaned.

Poker games with buddies, 4 to 5 times a year. It has probably been 5 years or so, since I bought any kind of lotter ticket.

I'm WAAAY too poor to gamble. If I ever get any discretionary income, I may put a couple dollars on a game.

While I understand the origin of such places I don't believe an all black university is needed as it once was.

I hit rock bottom when I got arrested in a bathroom at the Palms for performing oral on an elderly man who asked me to call him Pappy. He propositioned me with a $10 chip. I am happy to say I have since kicked my gambling addiction.

I usually bet on sport select every weekend during the NFL season. I'll also play poker with my buddies on Sunday's every few weeks. Once in a while I'll play poker online.

We'll generally hit a casino once, maybe twice a year. Blackjack exclusively, never for high stakes, usually at the casino boat in Dubuque when we visit Galena. We've hit a couple of the boats in Missouri and Iowa, as well as Deadwood in the Black Hills.

We'll be doing a bit of gambling this weekend in Reno, which will be my first time gambling in a Nevada casino town.

I lost ten bucks last weekend, and maybe 100 over the year in the casino (riverboat?) a few visits....

I'm still waiting to be the first person to ever win the lottery without actually purchasing a ticket.

What kind of odds can I get on you making it?

I'll play some cards with friends for money on rare occasions but other than that I don't gamble. I find little enjoyment in giving my hard-earned cash away.

And have taken a beating on here for it.

But I have won 1,600 twice 1,000 once 500.00 8-times 100.00 more times than I can count. 50.00 many, many times.

All in all I've been playing for about 2-years so I'm prolly close to even overall.

Last year missed the Fantasy Five by one ball. I had 4 outta 5.

If I'd had hit the 5th it was worth around 50K. I settled for 250.00

I would agree with you on the casino stuff. Sportsbook I do good at though. Poker with friends is all small time so it's no biggy one way or the other.

I play poker at a casino a time or two a month. occasionally I'll dink around with slots but usually card games(blackjack, 3card) or 3-6 limit poker, and then take 20-40 of winnings and stuff it in a $5 slot on the way out the door.

I keep track of wins-losses each time I go, and this year, I'm just under 4k ahead so far. Limit losses, maximize wins by leaving before you lose.
slot machines are for suckers, but are nice entertainment for some if used in that fashion.

I buy a powerball once in a while....

I doubt if they'd let me on the plane with it anyway.

Dammit. :)

Flying in Saturday, spending Saturday and Sunday night. Driving down to Yosemite on Monday, returning to Reno Friday. Flying home Saturday.

Once a year I go to Atlantic CIty and play mostly craps. I know when to walk away though and have always left town with more than I started. Good times, too.

I play poker at the casinos once or twice a month.

3/6 limit, 5/10 limit and 4/8 Omaha 8/b when there's a game.

I'll bet on NFL games when I'm in Vegas during the season.

Nothing other than that. Don't care for the "casino" games.

(Craps, Blackjack, Roulette, etc)

I've been considering using some of my bankroll to break into the 2-5 no limit games, but it seems if you don't get in early or a new table, with a $300 max buyin, big stacks would just push you off the table.

I'm as likely to win money sitting on a stool in front of a fire and throwing my money in there as I am to gamble.

I don't gamble at all, and frankly have never understood the attraction. I like to keep my money, not lose it.

Maybe I was scared straight when I was a kid, as my first gambling experience came at the Woodlands when my dad and I went with a group of people and we didn't win one damn race.

I like Reno. I didn't do much gambling, but they have 3-4 casinos connected together with restaurants, etc. in between. I remember eating steak and lobster tails for $10.99. That was in 2000, or there abouts. Stayed in Circus Circus for $17/night using vouchers.

That said, I actually loved the Woodlands the one time I went. I like the element of sport, I guess. It's fun to have a rooting interest... something to cheer for.

As for the poll, I'll occasionally bet a lunch or a twelve-pack over a football game with a buddy at work. I chose "other".

We're staying at Circus Circus as well. How does this voucher thing work? I'm paying a hell of a lot more than $17.

I'm a blackjack and poker player. Once or twice a month. I love blackjack. I either win or get up quickly. If the table is cold I don't sit around and just lose money. If I lose anything I go upstairs and win it back playing no-limit hold em. If it isn't my night I just go home. The people that can't just get up are the ones that lose.

I use to play online poker for $$ until our government shut that down. Why not regulate and tax it?? That would make too much sense.

I would rate my interest in gambling at about a 1 on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest. It's more stressful than enjoyable, even when winning.

Don't play poker with friends for anything more than penny-ante, too easy for someone to get hurt feelings. Go to Cripple Creek once every couple years or so. Momma usually wins some on the slots and over the course of 10 years I'm probably even or a little ahead at blackjack. More often than not we go up and spend the night and end coming home with what we took after paying for food/lodging.

I buy Powerball tickets when the jackpot exceeds $80 million, and I very, very infrequently go to the local casinos, usually only to take someone else who wants to go. However, I don't mind going.

Something that I always find funny is when I'm in a 7-11 and there's someone in line ahead of me who's trying hard to decide which type of scratch ticket to buy. For crying out loud, just pick a random one. Picking a winning scratch ticket is not the result of your skill and coordination.

I don't understand the mindset of people who only buy powerball tickets when the jackpot gets really high. Is $10-20 million not worth winning?
