The best driver under $100 is the one you can drop in the middle of the fairway 8 out of 10 times. I'd look for used. Try craigslist.

I did, no listings.

If you are not picky ... Dunlop 450cc Loco Driver. Not bad .... buddy who doesn't play much has one. Hit it the other day off the tee for a hole or two while we played. It only comes in a mid-flex. (No stiff flex) Walmart has a sale on them now with free hybrid 3 iron - $79. (online purchase only).

I don't understand why you say it is stupid? You can find many $300 to $400 selling for a fraction of the retail price.
example: http://cgi.ebay.com/Titleist-983-K-Driver-8-5-Deg-YS-6-Graph-Reg-flex-USED_W0QQitemZ160121711156QQihZ006QQcategoryZ115280QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
No name knockoffs are stupid IMO.

Huh, everything I was looking at was "buy it now" for 250+.
Or the bid was low, but had 6 days left on the auction.

That's a nice stick for the money. I'm not a big fan of 8.5 degree drivers, but the price is right....

I shop at Play It Again fairly often and have always found fair prices on used equipment. I believe they are franchises so perhaps it just depends on the store in your area.

If you have a Dick's Sporting Goods store I know a couple people who like their Adams drivers. Pretty good value.

Buy a used driver.
Try this website:
CallawayGolfPreowned.com
If you don't want a callaway product, they also have clubs from other manufacturers.

That would be me...I LOVE my Adams driver and I bought it off of EBAY no less. For Ebay you really need to know exactly what you want, how much its really worth and then search. If your seeing a "all buy it now's over $250" then you will NEVER find a driver under $100 because your taste is too expensive. I have used several different drivers and I'm absolutely sold on my Adams FC (fade control) with a steel shaft and all titanium head, I got for less than $50 shipped 2 years ago. This is pretty close to what I got: http://cgi.ebay.com/ADAMS-NICK-FALDO-SC-Ti818-10-5-DRIVER-GRAPHITE-Reg-Flex_W0QQitemZ190116712942QQihZ009QQcategoryZ115280QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Good luck.

I'm not sure if you have a Target store near you, and this WILL sound ridiculous, but I still use a $39 "John Daly" driver I bought last season. While it is not totally up to par with the latest $400 Callaways, etc., it was 95% as good for me, and for my swing. I used the difference in price to buy a really NICE putter, which didn't help my putting one bit.
The co-worker I golf with is a 3 handicap, and I'm about a 7-8. The model I am thinking of came with an Aldila firm flex shaft, which is slightly whippy, but I can still go 290 off the tee pretty consistently. My coworker has since moved on to a Callaway with a Speeder shaft since he has a faster swing speed.

It lets you know what used clubs are worth for both re-sell and purchasing them in online auctions.

I would recommend King Cobra 400SZ,440SZ, or 460SZ. They can be had for that price on Ebay. Great stix that very forgiving and hot.
