So I'm down at Liberty Memorial/Union Station for Memorial day and they start the whole thing with the National Anthem. I really expected to hear a few drunken mullets scream "Chiefs" at the end.

Zero. Zilch. Nada.

Shocking. I guess maybe the Symphony attracts a different crowd.

Did they do "the wave"?

Actually, yes. Many people are unsure of appropriate etiquette for patriotic songs. Stand during the National Anthem and the Hymn of your branch of service. When they played "God Bless America", everybody did the wave.... except for those in the know.

If the symphony members take turns playing the national anthem, I'd rather not be there when it's the cymbal player's turn.

Respect for the National Anthem is a good thing IMO.

I went to a wedding on saturday night, and after we left the reception we could hear some drunken redneck singing god bless america on karaoke at the party next door, it was hilarious.
