I'm sooooo glad the Cavs are in it, or I wouldn't be watching. Well...I love the NBA, so I'd still watch but not as closely as I would if the Pistons made it.

Should be a good series. Regardless of what people are saying, the Cavs have a shot, especially with the 2-3-2 format.

Can't wait!

The Cav's did win the only contest this year, and the only contest last year as well. Bruce Bowen has had trouble stopping Lebron..

But, Spurs in six

I pretty much stopped watching the NBA when I moved away from Los Angeles in '04, but I think I may catch a couple of these games. Coming from LA, I dislike the Spurs (snore) and having Lebron in the finals will be good for the league, IMO. Oh yeah...and I'm really glad that whinebag Rasheed is done for the year.

Did you mean the Cavs won the only 2 contests between them and the Spurs?

I will be pulling for the Cavs. But I know the Spurs are too good and experienced at winning championships. Spurs in 7.

I can't believe how bad the Cavs had played and they had it to within to before that lucky shot at the buzzer. Cavs have a shot. Remember, if the Cav's win JUST ONE of the first two games in San Antonio that will be a HUGE accomplishment.

Is it too early to start calling him LeFraud James?

This is the problem with the media. Everything is either the GOAT or the worst thing ever. There's no nuance or middle ground. LeBron's game was great, but it was also done against a team who would have been a 7 seed if they were in the West; Detroit was coached by a complete patsy.

As great as LeBron's performance was, it wasn't even top 10.

BWillie

It's GAME 1. They are playing in San Antonio. This was the same thing people said last series after Detroit won the first two. Yeah, I know, the Spurs are dominating this game. But the Cavs are SUPPOSED to lose these first two at San Antonio.

Lebron's problem is that he has no dependable mid range game. The Spurs were giving him the 17 footer and he wouldn't take it and when he did it clanged... You think Kobe or Wade would do that? Doubtful. He has a significant weakness and he needs to address it.

That's a shitty comparison because I don't like the Spurs so I prefer to not watch them play.......I'm not a fan of them and don't find them fun to watch, there's nothing about them that makes me care to watch them and I'm an NBA fan.

Cleveland is basically a 1 man team and the east is totally awful in general. All you need to know about Cleveland is when LeBron didn't get the call of Bowen grabbing him at the end of the game and the coach didn't say anything.......that's all you need to know.

He should have exploded defending his player in the press conference like any good coach would but he showed he was spineless nothing more.

I think people need to stop looking at the ratings. Yeah, people aren't watching the NBA right now. It's partly because of the how they are portrayed as a "thugs league" and the fact that there are a ton of foriegn people that nobody cares about.

Ever since the Pistons and the Spurs started to reign by playing great fundamental and team basketball the ratings have plunged. Ratings have also gone down after Jordon, but Kobe and Shaq in LA help keep them a float for a while. I can't really pinpoint why the ratings are so bad, but I can tell you this, the public still cares about he NBA. NBA players are still household names. You know who Kobe, LeBron, Steve Nash, Shaq, all those guys are. The NBA's name is out there, it's just that nobody's watching.

Until a dominate team from one of the major markets (Chicago, LA, NY, Boston) reigns supreme, ratings will probably continue to be low.

Don't forget the NBA totally F*cked up by waiting so long to start the finals, and on top of that started the games late in the hopes of getting a west coast audience- like they give a f@ck about SA and CLE...

too many days off from the conf. championships and the finals really were stupid, and so is catering to both coasts.

Good to see San Antonio get their 4th, only because Detroit choked away a perfectly good opportunity to get there. I don't really care about the ratings and what team is there. I personally enjoy watching a defensive, fundamental basketball game.

At least. Parker just turned 25, and Ginobili is still in his twenties. Duncan will be productive five more years as well. Parker is one amazing player, and he's only going to get better. I've never seen a 175 pound little guy use his body to get to the rim like he does before. I don't know how he does it. He'd have been crazy to go through the NCAA system from an economic viewpoint. And I'd be wasting my time to watch him now, from a basketball viewpoint. The kid didn't learn basketball. He learned Lebronball. Why bother watching that?
