View Full Version : Political Ideology Quiz?

Where is that quiz you can fill out to determine where you stand on the political spectrum?

I think it's at ontheissues.org? But I can't find the quiz.

They give you a selection of issues, ask you where you stand on it, and then sum you up by putting you on a two-dimensional grid that looks like a diamond.

Help! :)

The first question:

If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations.

I'm glad that in a unbelievably complex question I only have a choice between "serve humanity" and enriching corporations. Middle ground please? Or even better, neither.

Wow, I think I'm dumber for having taken that quiz. Here are some highlights....

Let's see, we have larger brains and opposable thumbs. Those are kind of handy qualities to have.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need" is a fundamentally good idea.

It's a sad reflection on our society that something as basic as drinking water is now a bottled, branded consumer product.

I've had much greater success carrying a bottle of water while I'm out jogging than carrying water in my cupped hands. Any chance the municipal water system will start pumping Fruit2O through the lines?

When you are troubled, it's better not to think about it, but to keep busy with more cheerful things.

I remember that my Economics in Political Systems professor spent about a week on this question, but I just can't remember the answer.

It's natural for children to keep some secrets from their parents.

How should I know? I don't have kids. I suspect that a child that keeps a secret has very bad parents.

A significant advantage of a one-party state is that it avoids all the arguments that delay progress in a democratic political system.

Mothers may have careers, but their first duty is to be homemakers.

That's a toughie. I'll need to go ask my wife.
