View Full Version : Daunte Culpepper Escorted off Practice Field

"** FOX Sports Radio reports Dolphins QB Daunte Culpepper was just escorted off the field during practice by team security. It sounds worse than it is. It's sort of like Steve McNair's lockout in Tennessee last year, a trade has likely gone down and Miami doesn't want "the product" to get damaged before "shipping" or they have to pay for it. We're guessing either Jacksonville or our dark horse candidate, Baltimore, has pulled the trigger."

Agreed. The only team I can see who MIGHT be desperate enough to trade for him to be sure they lock him up is the soon-to-be-missing-a-starting-QB Atlanta Falcons.

The joke is going to be on them when they discover that Green is not the same player he once was.

Daunte apparently doesn't think he has been or will be traded. This from Rotoworld:

Daunte Culpepper says he will not agree to be traded by the Dolphins.

"I definitely expect to be released," Culpepper said after Friday's minicamp practice, out of which he was escorted by team security. "I will not agree to any trade. If I'm traded, ultimately my contract has to be restructured and I will not restructure it." The Dolphins reportedly met Friday to tell Culpepper in front of the whole team that he could no longer practice in 11-on-11 drills. Jun. 8 - 2:42 pm et

No one will take his 5.5 m hit. he does not have to agree to take a pay cut. He will be released. There is no other way around it. I dont think any team will eat that contract.

Green left a franchise that treated it's players unfairly
and now is in loving hands

Thank you for pointing out to all those crying that Carl was screwing Trent over, that he was in fact treated as a pro.

If Carl could sign Culpepper for peanuts after Miami cuts him, it would be classic. (for camp fodder of course)

Looks like he left to hit the weight room because he wasn't getting enough practice time.

A quasi Trent Green saga. This site seems to be updating this afternoon on the situation:

I think he should just to do it.....

also, Good point mr. Blueballs and mr. coryt. IMO, Green was treated with all the class we remember him having while in KC.

Why would Jacksonville be in the market for a QB?

Don't they have a controversy already?

(Not that Daunte would compete, just sayin...)

Yeah they have a controversy. Two black quarterbacks that look exactly like one another. The last thing they need is a 3rd one to jump in the mix.

the Miami players have to support Daunte publicly
yet not resent Trent for knocking their leader out of work
Cameron should order a player gag order

Actually Jacksonville has 3 black QBs all like each other.

Yeah, Byron Leftwich and David Garrard look so similar.....

Hell they don't even have similar playing styles. Garrard is a mobile qb and Leftwich is a Drew Bledsoe clone.
