View Full Version : Either Dan Morgan or the Duece will be available at #12

How does that make everyone feel about the trade? I still like it, but would have loved to have either of these guys in R&G. Still I'm glad to have the QB situation settled.

04-21-2001, 11:42 AM
They were the top two guys on my board for us...This is absolutely what I didn't want to happen...I could have lived with this pretty well if they were both gone....

I want to throw up.

04-21-2001, 11:43 AM
Morgan never would have been chosen.
Just never would have happened.

Deuce on the other hand... :(

04-21-2001, 11:46 AM
This is why I pleaded for the Chiefs to wait till draft day before they made a trade. I would trade Green for Morgan any day. There was no harm in waiting one more day to see who was available. I'm feeling ill right now.

04-21-2001, 11:48 AM
Morgan is a moot point now...

He he, Rams are screwed!

04-21-2001, 11:49 AM
Carolina will allow me to sleep much better tonight...

CP and DV better hope that Deuce isn't the next E.James or Fred Taylor...

04-21-2001, 11:49 AM
Well, that settles that. Deuce, probably, in exchange for Trent Green, the 5th, and essentially the rights to Tony Horne.

04-21-2001, 11:50 AM
Duece and Buerline would have scared me as an opponent... Green and Holmes do not...

You guys screwed the pooch on this one...

The Rams will take Dmoine Lewis at 12 who is a friggen stud!

Glad Morgan is in the NFC.

04-21-2001, 11:50 AM
Ok, now Mogan is gone. But the other DM could have been a Chief! Wow. This will make it much easier to second guess the Green trade.

04-21-2001, 11:53 AM

The pooch has been screwed so many times in KC that it's guts are falling out...

04-21-2001, 11:56 AM
I respectfullly disagree with you Hawaiianboy. I like the sound of Green and Holmes much better that Beurelein and Duece.

And I am grateful that I will not have to bemoan the loss of Morgan in the draft. :D

04-21-2001, 11:57 AM
Knew it!

The Rams just got the best DT in the draft IMO... This guy has Warren Sapp type skills... if his ankle hadn't been messed up all year, he would have gone top 10...

04-21-2001, 11:58 AM
I don't feel good at all now...I was hoping that Deuce was going to be gone so that we wouldn't have to watch this...

We'll see...

04-21-2001, 11:58 AM

The biggest difference between your opinions is that he is an opponent on the outside looking in versus you being a Chiefs fan, like most of us Chiefs fans, look at every thing in the Red and Gold through rose colored glasses...

04-21-2001, 12:04 PM
Buerline is just solid.

Duece will have a Jamal Lewis type year especially if he falls to Miami or the Vikes now.... I think he is one of the top 5 talents in the draft
... No way Priest is even in the same area code talent wise with Duece.

04-21-2001, 12:07 PM

You have to understand that despite being nothing more than a spot starter/3rd down back...Priest Holmes is now one of the greastest RB's in the league, for now he is a Chief....

04-21-2001, 12:10 PM
I hate agreeing with a TRaider fan, but I agree wholeheatedly with jq.
I'm not sold on Green or Holmes. I haven't seen anything from them that tells me they are more than good back up talent.

04-21-2001, 12:11 PM
Holmes spent a few weeks behind Jay Graham on Baltimores depth chart....Jay Graham couldn't even crack a XFL roster this fall....

04-21-2001, 12:14 PM
Holmes is a huge upgrade over what you've had at TB... I just think Duece is a special talent....

He reminds me of Eric Dickerson...

04-21-2001, 12:19 PM
All I know for sure is that the Scrams are going to be fuggin stacked when they get done with the 1st 3 rounds of this draft and it is mostly due to us....

04-21-2001, 12:24 PM
If the Scams win the SB, CP can take credit for building a SB team while in KC.

04-21-2001, 12:29 PM
Whats up with thatVinny Cerratto dude.... he loks like he was sucking the Meth pipe before he went on air.

04-21-2001, 12:35 PM
Vinny = :eek:

Hawaiianboy; hope you know I wasn't trying to diss you - just expressing my opinion.

04-21-2001, 12:39 PM
Express away, that is what we're here for... I didn't take it that way at all dude...

I was hoping that Moss fell somehow to the bottom of the 1st.

Ok, I made an obsure smart-alec remark.

The Le leche league is an organization for the promotion of breast feeding. One of their topics is "expressing" milk from the breast when the baby isn't there, for later use in bottles.

But, as the Milkman, you may have been already aware!

04-21-2001, 12:54 PM
Milkman, if that's the case, how do you rate the Chiefs 2000 team? Trent Green threw for 2,050 yards, 16 TD's and 5 INT's in 5 GAMES! That's half of Grbac's career year in 1/3 of the games! Preist Holmes is 27, and rushed for over 1,000 yards in '98. NO CHIEF has rushed for over 800 yards in 10 YEARS! I think you're waaaaay too negative dude! This will be a fine offensive backfield for the next several years, and with great coaching (and a couple of breaks) the Chiefs should win 10 games a year for the next few years.

04-21-2001, 01:11 PM
I didn't know that. I just deliver milk. Can't say I'm all that familiar with anything about milk or organizations somehow remotely related. I don't even drink milk. Can't stand the flavor.

I'm not sold on Green. As we saw with Elvis, numbers don't always translate to wins. Green's numbers led to 2 wns in 5 games.
A 1000 yard season doesn't mean all that much in a 16 game season. If T-Rich had gotten enough carries, he could've put up 1000 yards in '00 I didn't want him as the feature back in '01. I do think that a combination of Holmes and T-Rich could be a good one, however.
