Does anyone know what the cost was of a seat in any given section back in 1996-1997 (the year after we went 13-3 and lost to the Colts).

Per inflation rates from this website.

http://inflationdata.com/inflation/Inflation_Rate/Inflation_Rate_Calculator.asp#results

There's an inflation rate of 58.88% between Jan 1990 to Jan 2007.

Given this under inflation rates only for ticket purchase at Jan '90 for $19.79 should now only cost us $31.44

I think my math is right but I could be wrong.

Damn it Carl!!! :cuss:

Whats the average in the league as well? Remember 95 was the start of the stadium building boom.

I took 1996 as a sample rate. The cost of a ticket was roughly $34. Now, it's $67. Inflation says that $34 back then is equivalent to $43 now.

So, tickets have gone up about $24 per seat in 10 years.

If you're blaming new stadiums you can add Seattle and Arizona to the list, and IIRC the Georgia Dome was built for the '96 Olympics.

Interesting, but I don't think the actual price showed up on the ticket until 2004:
