View Full Version : Anticipation - it's making me wait

I always look forward to a new Chiefs season. This one is different then ones of recent memory. I don't know what to expect. And not in a bad way. THe defense looks promising. I'm excited by the possiblities.

The offense could be anything. LJ and Tony G are pretty darn good players. Kennison is solid and Bowe looks promising. The QB postion -I have faith that Huard can manage if Croyle can not. The oline is a concern.

Special teams are different every year with last years rookies moving into starter roles(Pollard) or are just gone altogether. Colquitt is solid as a rock. Medlock and the new longsnapper are question marks.

Excited more than years past to get this party started.

So what do we have to fear in Houston against the Texans?

Might as well talk Week 1 now.

Mario Williams and that ROY linebacker, and Matt Schaub and what'shisname the star WR on O, right?

Who else they got?

It's just fun breaking in a new quarterback. Just good, clean plain fun.

I'm excited to see what we'll be offensively.

I think this team has only gotten better on defense.
Though I'm dying to see these young guys become the heart and soul of that unit.

The whole persona of the team's changed, from a veteran-heavy squad with system-specific players riding out the end of their careers to a young squad built on speed and talent. Yesterday's team leaders and probowlers are mostly gone, it's time to see who the leaders of tomorrow will be.

However the '07 season goes, I think it's exciting in a whole "on the verge" sense. I think, if he does nothing else, Edwards has set the Chiefs up for years of contention, in terms of sheer talent. It's a total departure from anything I've seen since I started watching them (in '99).

It's not business as usual, that's for sure.....which IMO is a good thing. Been watching the Vets for 8+ years with the "this is the year" attitude and have grown quite tired of that BS story. I'm enticed by our QB, like our coach, love our RB, and might be enamored with our D by the end of the year. Change is exciting when mediocrity has been accepted - and it's time for a change.

I'm so exited mostly because they got rid of some very heavy dead weight and I am talking about Ryan Simms.

We drafted a TANK, in DeMarcus "Tank" Tyler of N.C. State. That was a major upgrade at that position and will help keep blockers off of our LBs. Our D was pretty good last year it's just gonna get better this year.

I am also stoked about the QB Brodie VS Damon. Who ever wins that job may have some big shoes to fill in regards of replacing Trent but I think it is the right direction for this football team.

what I was hoping for

we're just gonna go anywhere from 7-9 to 9-7 like we do every yr. bet that. as long as we beat the broncos and raiders at home, it'll be alright for a "rebuilding" year.
