Would you take the law into your own hands and if so in what way?

Yeah, criminal or not if someone purposely hurt one of my family members it would be hard to stop me from doing much harm to them. I would not care about jail/prison or whatever.

That easy find the crooks get a rag to knock them out with then start a fire. Trust me it's a almost foolproof way to kill a crook.

I'd just let my fellow Deputies hand out some street justice...keep my hands clean yet get them dirty at the same time :D

For some reason i've thought about this a lot in my life, and yes, I would take action against the person or even their family. I would try to not be obvious about it, like shooting the person in court or something, but I would definitely get my revenge at some point.

You don't have to have a badge to have "deputies". ;)

Define "harm" please? There would be a gradient of responses to crimes as varied as shoving my Mother and stealing her purse to murdering a family member.

Getting into the more extreme criminal activities such as the murder of a family member....it might be best for everyone to assume that the main suspect just fled the country.

For me there is nothing that makes me snap worse than when someone hurts one of my family members even by accident. I can remember once when my wife and I were swimming at a local health club, she was 8 months pregnant and already miserable. This guy is swimming laps on the wrong side of the pool and when he swims by too closely he kicked her right in the stomach! I was instantly enraged and grabbing on to his flesh or whatever I literally grabbed the dude by his chest and went off on him verbally. Fire was coming out of my ears I was so flaming mad. He apologized profusely to me and my wife....I apologized to him later as well. Not a moment I am at all proud of either but in that instant of rage who knows what might have happened in a different setting situation.

The two pussies who ambushed my 70 year old uncle and beat him to death would have been killed by family members had they both not been caught the next day and both not sentenced to life without parole.

Nails come out too easy. Screws or bolts work better. You'll need to drill a starter hole for the screws. If you are using bolts don't forget to bring some large washers.

What does one do when it hits so close to home?

Judy was my 2nd cousin, spent Christmas dinner at her house in Chetopa just a few weeks before this happened.

Through sobs and tears Karen Cook pled with Judge Robert Fleming Wednesday to impose on Charles C. Krider of Chetopa the maximum sentence the law would allow for Krider beating, strangling and then dumping her mother, Judith Shrum, into a creek in 2004.

She said she had not even had time to grieve the loss of her father in 2003 to a heart attack when her mother was taken from her at the hands of a murderer.

"He cannot get what he deserves in this lifetime," Cook...

A jury found Charles C. Krider guilty of second-degree murder after deliberating for four hours on Tuesday.

Family members expressed anger with the verdict as they left the courtroom.

"You can't escape God's justice," James Cook, the son-in-law of the victim, yelled as Krider was escorted from the courtroom.

Krider, 45, was charged with first-degree murder in the strangulation death of Judith A. Shrum, 58, in 2004.

Lets say life threatening harm or rape.

In an instance of murder or rape and I enquivocally knew the identity of the perpetrator, that individual would "flee the country" and not be heard from again. Too bad the border patrol agents couldn't catch him before he got away.

I would find a way to get away with it, so yes I think I would in a heart beat.

On the other hand, perhaps I should be more willing to place my trust in the criminal justice system. I know plenty of people in prison and a carton of cigarettes a week would be adequate to ensure the perpetrator had a VERY long and unpleasant 15-20 years.

I don't have a clue what I would do
until I'm in that time and place
I've surprised myself

It would probably depend on the timing. If I happened to show up when they were being harmed I would kill the SOB to make sure he couldn't testify against me. Probably wouldn't walk up and kill him where I didn't have any type of defense unless I knew I would get away with it. Ending my life as a free man wouldn't bring back any loved ones and as a widower once already I know that after a few years life can and does go on.

If I could stop the harmful act by actions of my own I would do what I could to protect the family member. If I found out post-incident, I'd let the legal system take care of it - I might bug them to death and help them more than they want.

If I didn't think the legal system was going to do what I think they should:

1) Get in touch with a pig farmer, set up an arrangement

2) Kill him, clean up potential evidence

3) Feed that ****er to the pigs

End of story.

My brother would do the same thing.

Define Harm.... OK.. What if someone held down your mother and cut her left breast off then went and cut your dads junk off and then took your sister and put a broom handle in her vagina then pulled it out and stuck it up your brothers ass.

Years ago, growing up in OPKS, my sister was walking her dog and a man pulled up in a "rusted-out Mustang" and tried to nab her. He had no idea who he was dealing with as she got away and ran home in a fury.

When she described his vehicle, I immediately jumped into my car and went after the SOB. After a couple of hours of driving all over the neighborhood and the surrounding area, I couldn't find him. During that time though, I had plenty of time to think about what I would do had I seen him and it always came down to this: I was determined to slam my vehicle into his, get out, and beat him so hard, he'd never be able to ***** anyone again.

So, I guess that answers your question.

You should own an AR-15! You have to kill them or they could sue your ass!
