Im curious about this. He is an animal in the middle... always in the backfield. We have 8 games without him... so the young guys get a chance... 2008 season our DLine will be pretty solid, one of the strengths on the team.

Plus if we sign Tank Johnson, our defense will have two Tanks. And that sounds mean.

*option number one, is 'should we BRING him in...'

In all honesty I know he'll prolly get into something again but out of all the people that were disciplined for their actions by the commissioner he seemed to be the one that was turning it around and at least making an effort. I mean honestly yes he got behind the wheel after having a few but srsly he just got caught doing it. I'd like to see what he has personally.

So will Johnson nick name be altered to Abrhams or Panzier?

We have 8 games without him

possibly 6.

it would be great to add a top 10 DE after 4 games, then a top 10 DT after 6.

I chose option 2.... but I'd defer to Herm's judgment, if it comes to signing the dude; I mean, give the guy a second/third/fourth chance...Chicago screwed the pooch on this whole thing by dumping him too early, IMO.

If nothing else, we decide McBride and Williams are as good or better....and we cut him. No biggie. Right?

Ok, so now we have GoChiefs interview Carl about getting Tank Johnson in for a visit.

I'd take a look at him.

when you think about risk and reward. Yes, I'd bring him in

The risk is that Clark Hunt might move down to 16, in the owners SI popularity poll.

No.

I don't think Tank's a bad guy. But he is an absolute, hopeless idiot and a marked man. He will f#ck up again - it's only a matter of time.

Better that he's somebody else's problem.

And besides, we already have one ticking timebomb dumbass. Do we really need two?

I said voted no, but if Herm endorsed him, I'd reconsider.

Who?

I am fairly certain Tim is referring to Jared Allen.

I would definitely bring the guy in.
He would make this defensive line absolutely lethal.

I'll bet that him and JA could be bestest buddies. I mean they both like an occasional drink, don't like cabs and I'll bet JA could really learn to enjoy the smell of cordite.

Two Tanks
One LAW (Light Anti-tank Weapon)
One Sapp(er)
One (General) Bragg (aka Ft. Bragg)
Two Edwards (AFB)
One (Major Walter) Reed
One Bell (Helo)

We got a military theme going on here....

Bring him in...why not take a look.

Dueling 'Tanks' could be a D line we need.

The Poz

2 tanks, with Boone, Reed and Edwards in the middle. Hali, Allen with Turk and Wilkerson on the ends. Our re-vamped LB's. QB's and RB's would be sh!tting themselves.
Plus, that pressure will make our CB's look like they are actually earning their $$$.
Throw in Bell on the line on pass rush situations (apparently that's all he's good for). We could really suprise people this season with or without a second Tank.

I lol at the idea that his character has changed.

No, he won't change. Especially now that he tested as under the DUI limit. Someone will take a chance on him though. I just hope it isn't us. I would rather we not give the impression to Allen or anyone on the team that its ok as long as you are good.

slap a ankle braclet. Put a blow meter in his ride.

Better yet. Get in good with all local watering holes to watch these guys. Get cab/limo ready.

I'm pretty sure I can name 10 DTs that blow Tank away.

Mr. Laz

so how exactly are they gonna be able to tell whether his character has changed from an interview?

No, but let's not blow things out of proportion simply because Tank is.

We should get this guy. No doubt, I think the Bears made a big mistake, hopefully we try to get him before the Donks sign him.

Hell yes bring him in for a shot. Why not ?

Can you imagine Jared Allen and him hosting a
party at the opponents QB ?

I can certainly imagine them both being suspended more games than they are actually allowed to play.

Speaking of Jared Allen, a friend of mine saw him in a vegas club last night around 2 am. Hopefully he was within walking distance of his destination for the evening.

I think on the football field Tanks reputation as a young athletic specimen and a 2nd round pick overshadowed his ability to perform anyhow. In fact Alfonso Boone might be a more productive defensive tackle.
