The fact is, there is no way to know what this team will do.

We don't even know with any certainty who the QB will be, or if any of the young recievers will replace Parker.

We really don't know if Page and Pallard are going to be what everyone here thinks they can be, and we also can only hope that Tank and Turk, along with Alphonso Boone can shore up the middle of the defensive line.

There's far to many questions to be answered to make any kind of educated guess on what the team's record will be.

Oh for chrissakes, just make a ****ing prediction.

I predict that the Chiefs will play 16 regular season games, some of which they will win, some which they'll lose, and if they win enough games they could play in the postseason.

If they lose enough games, they could pick top 10 in the next draft.

You bet on sure things and they made the playoffs against all odds.

Then they went and laid an egg in that playoff game to boot.

I believe we will be a 9-6 team heading into New York for our final game.

The game will define the Chiefs under the Herm Edwards era. Can we win on the road against a team that isn't terrible (the Jets, who will more than likely be competing against us for a playoff spot) and thus usher in a new time in Chiefs history, a time when this team could actually be dangerous on the road? Or will we choke once again, playing an admirably sturdy game but ultimately flaming out once again, settling for a 9-7 record and proving all of Herm's "let's make this team tougher" talk for naught.

9-7? 10-6?

Only one game difference between the two, but a big difference it'll make.

I did pay for a plane ticket, football ticket and had to give up a LJ authentic when we lost....

I still blame BRC and OWP....Check BRC record...............ooo

The Chiefs not making the playoffs was a sure thing last year IMO.

I guess you can argue that the Chiefs laying an egg in said playoff game WAS a sure thing though.

Just how many 7-9 seasons do you think we've had in the last 15 years?

How often have we started with an all new offensive cast at LT, RT, RG, QB, and probably FB? Not to mention all the changes in the defense that will require them to gel into a cohesive unit. Now throw in a rookie kicker that will probably fail in the clutch several times because he is a rookie and no proven/reliable kick returner. Yep 7-9 is right as rain for such a situation. If it were not for our normal performance we would finish 5-11 and get a great draft pick which was really my point with the normal statement, in that we normally don't get a great/top 10 draft pick.

6-10

Subpar WR core with a rookie QB and a not so good Oline. Teams are just gonna put 8-9 in the box and double team TonyG.

Defense will keep us in games though.

If he gets a contract before, 8-8, maybe 9-7. JMHO

Steep Difficulty
@ Indianapolis
@ San Diego
San Diego
@ Chicago
@ Denver

Difficult But Doable
@ N.Y. Jets
Cincinatti
Denver

Tough Wins/Hornet's Nests
@ Oakland
@ Houston
@ Detroit
Jacksonville

Should Wins
Tennessee
Green Bay
Minnesota
Oakland

You can assume we go 4-0 on the Should Wins, at least 3-1 on Tough Wins, and at least 1-2 on the Difficult But Doables.

So 8-3 at worst or 9-2, realistically for those games. Those other five games are anywhere from 0-5 to 1-4.

So ultimately I believe 8-8 to 10-6 is the most realistic belief. Honestly I do think we'll be 9-6 heading into New York, and the Jets game will define our season.
