Nope, he's still available. Probably asking for too much money right now. I assume he'll wind up getting a job somewhere, but at minimum cost with incentives. I wouldn't mind trying to re-sign him, but pride will probably prevent him from wanting to come back. There has been talk from some teams of bringhing him in and converting him to safety...

Last I heard, he was talking to the lions.

That would be great if we could resign him to a cap friendly contract.

I have heard the Vikes were trying to bring him in. They are looking for veteran CB help at minimum salary + incentives. Come to think of it, they're lookin for ANY warm body on defense at minimum salary + incentives.

Do not be surprised to see him end up in Oakland with an incentive laden contract playing the safety position.

DaWolf,
I absolutely die laughing at your pictures! But did you have to mention the r-a-i-d-e-r-s with the name of James Hasty?:) That is so hard to even type...

I am sure teams look at the film from last year and see what I saw: Hasty getting lit up almost every game.

He isnt that good anymore. And he certainly isnt as good as he thinks and most of you guys think.

That's funny ... in another thread you posted that it was painful for us to lose Hasty. Now you're saying he isn't worth it?

Typical ... talking out of both ends of your a$$.

Pretty soon we'll be lamenting the fatal loss of Chestor, right? And DAMN that Carl Peterson for letting Elvis get away!! That guy is CASH MONEY in post-season!!

Mark,

He did get lit up last year, but Hasty was the best cover guy the Chiefs had, which isnt saying much. The context I was speaking was that the Chiefs off season has been "fun". Its not "fun" when your best cover guy gets cut and you have no backup for him, IMO

That's assuming the young guys aren't ready to play though. It didn't look like it was going to be very fun in 1997 when the team MVP, Mark Collins, got cut, for example.

You never know...
