There are places
Some of us can't face yet
And even though we see it
We just swear God's sleeping
So we say,

"Ash to ash, dust to dust,
We're all gonna die so we have to
trust in something"
But it's probably nothing
There's gotta be something

Now we mean it in our homes where we're sleeping
We call it mattresses underwater but the gutters are seeping
So we say,

"Ask and ask and we'll return
The same favors till its our own turn"
We got ash in our pockets and dust in the urn,
Another forty years for you
And yours to learn

Love was made like a ship at bay, never to see waves
We'll probably all crash anyway

When we see it we don't believe it
We've got our faces made for smiling, but we are weeping
We got ash in our pockets and dust in the urn
Another forty years for you and yours to learn
You say, "all you ever talk about is dying and it's getting so old"

And we say, "love was made
Like a book or a page just ripped out but we never read anyway"
And you say "love was made like a ship at bay never to see waves"
We should probably get used to it, but we don't

Now I see it...

She's got her hands in her pockets and she's walking around
She's got a face made for smiling but she's making a frown
She says, "all you ever talk about is letting us down
If you ever see me dying, just put me in the ground"

I certainly would have fallen asleep at that concert.

Not saying the band ISN'T talented just not something which flips my switch.

Cool you've got band friends.

My buddy and his band are recording their second album in Ohio.

I was playing off the name. My band(ex band) was called 9voltRevolt.

nothing about that first clip was very interesting TO ME, nothing in the second one either - but I am not a fan of much of today's music anyway - not saying they don't have talent.
I hope you're not going to post a thread about voting for them in a contest, heh.

no contest. just to help promote a local band - they're an acquired taste.
i could've posted studio material but they really are a good live act.

let me know if you're interested in their EP...

There are about as many things right with those guys as there are things that are unpolished, but the one thing that stands out above all else: Get rid of that awful drummer and don't let the next one stomp all over the singer with his cymbal.

Not to be too mean, but Quik I think being friends with them biases your opinion... They are horrible after watching both videos, Well not so much horrible but just your standard garage band..

clearly that is just your opinion. i became friends with most of the band members after a show, btw. their music appeals to me. i've turned a lot of people to this local act.
but it's cool if you can't get into them.

they just got signed to fat possum records (andrew bird, dinosaur jr, the black keys, etc). i couldn't be happier for them.
polished songs on their myspace - www.myspace.com/colourrevolt
"blood in your mouth" and "a new family" are gold.
