Just learned that fellow planet member JOhn is in the hospital in Colorado... He suffered a heart attack from what I've learned from some relatives of his...

When I learn more -- I'll let you all know... I've known John for alot of years... He lived only about 3 miles from me afew years ago, before he decided to move to Wyoming...

You know, I got to thinking that him being in a hospital in Colorado may not be a good sign. I would think if it was fairly routine he would be in a hospital there in Wyoming. Being in Colorado is probably not a good sign.

Update: Found out that he did possibly have a heart attack... He was taken to a hospital in Wyoming, then later moved to another there in Wyoming... He's having some tests run, so it appears they are trying to find out what caused it in the first place... Reason he was moved wasn't because it was a bad attack, they just wanted to move him to a hospital with alittle more knowledge in the field of heart medicine... So; hopefully thats a good sign in the least...

They have a very good regional heart care center in Ft. Collins. 3/4 of the people here in Scottsbluff go there for care as well. It's just the way things are when you live out in the sticks. I wouldn't read much into it.

Better news even yet... John just called and told me that he's hoping to be released tomorrow if things go right...

Story is that he said he wasn't feeling too well the past few days, but thought it was just him being tired and all... Well; he was at the grocery store with his daughter and said all of a sudden he felt pretty bad... Upon arriving at home, he woke his wife and said that she needed to run him to the ER ASAP !!!

Once at the hospital, they ran some tests and decided to have him life flighted to Billings... After some more tests were ran, it was concluded that John had been having heart attacks... I know he didn't say stentz(sp), but it was something to that nature that they placed in his heart... He had 5 of whatever it was he was saying placed in his heart...

He honestly thought it was just heartburn... Anyway, I told him to stop in sometime on here and say hi... He said he just got his computer fixed, but said he would once he gets to feeling better...

So; things are looking up... He said it would take more than a heart attack to get him down... He said for me to tell all of you thank you for thinking of him, and that he was thankful for having such good friends on here...

I'm also thankful for each and everyone of you to be this supportive when times get hard for members, and their families... In a sense, I feel that WE are all one big family... I've only met John from the many memebers on here, but I know that each and every one of you do have a side of compassion when times get rough for someone on here...

So; from me to all of you --- I thank each and everyone of you for the thoughts and prayers... Not only for John, but for everyone else on here who needs them...

I applaud you all !!!

WOW, I feel truly humbled by all the responses and well wish's. Thank you each and everyone of you, your thoughts, prayers and well wish's are greatly appreciated.

I saw the thread briefly yesterday, and just now finished reading all the replies and I really am speechless other then to simply say thank you all very much. Well I guess I'll give you all a brief (or as brief as I can make it) synopsis of recent events.

I started having what I thought was pain from a pulled chest muscle or maybe pleurisy(sp?) about 2 1/2 weeks ago. And having been a Paramedic for many years and currently in classes to finish up getting my RN degree, I figured I knew what the pain was and that there was nothing to worry about. Boy was I wrong, and it nearly cost me my life.

Well friday night I took my 11 y/o daughter with me to WalMart for a little school shopping. I started having the pain again, but by the time we left the store I was feeling ok. Shortly after getting home at midnight The pain returned & was 10x worse than ever before. Over my vocal objections my daughter went and woke my wife up. And once again over my objections they took me to the ER.

As soon as they ran the EKG on me, the ER Doctor got very serious and said I need to be Life-Flighted to Billings, as I was in the midst of a major heart attack. while waiting for the Helo, the gave me a clot busting drug, to attempt to break any of the clots forming in the arteries of my heart and lesson any damage. And because of this one procedure I managed to escape with very little permanent damage to my heart.

They flew me to Billings & at 5am that morning the took me to the cardiac cath lab, and proceeded to place 5 stents in the vessels of my heart. (for those of you with medical knowledge I'll give a little more detail) They Placed 3 in the Left Anterior Descending and 2 more Right Coronary artery. they said the right one was 90% blocked at one point, and all the others were in the 70-80% area.

Again thanks to the clot busting drugs the gave me at the Hospital here in Cody, I have managed to suffer very little permanent damage & the stints should prevent any further problems if I Follow Dr instructions and start eating better and exercising more.

I did get home yesterday morning & been resting a lot. I feel like a giant pin cushion from all the IV's and the large catheter needles the placed in the artery in my groin. Got so many bruises it's painful to sit up, let alone get up and walk around.

Well so much for the short story  It really means a lot to know even though I havn't posted regularly in awhile you all took the time to wish me well. I sincerely thank you all for the well wishes and prayerss...... I really does mean a lot to both me & my wife.

I can usually have about 3 and feel like I drank a 30 pack... Just getting kinda of old at feeling like I'm 60 in the mornings... Had 3 at bowling league lastnight, and woke with the worst headache ever...

I usually wind up being the designated driver which is good for everyone... NOW; if we go out of town or out of state to bowl --- the taxi driver is the designated driver for the night !!!

I came on board about the time you cut out of this place, but I am 42 year old, so this is just another reminder that your next heart beat could be your last. Prayers and good wishes to you dude.
