I downloaded a torrent yesterday and it finished this morning. But, it won't let me play it. When I click on the downloaded file it says "The content is not recognized as a known format. Your operating system does not have an associated program for this file type."

How does one fix this problem?

Depends on what you downloaded. You're not actually playing a "torrent." You're playing the file that you downloaded through the use of the torrent system.

Chances are, you need to install the divx or xvid codecs.

Actually, maybe I'm not understanding what you're doing. If you right-click on the file you want and go to properties, what does it say near the top as the file type?

There are almost 40 of these files in the download.

Each one says File 001 or 002 or 003 for file type.

Ah, if that's the case, you need WinRAR. It's kind of like WinZip, but a little different.
