F**k that. You can only carry 100lbs of meat back to the wagon.

Well, what else are you gonna do? Shoot a fricken squirrel? That won't even feed your family for the day it somehow took you to shoot the damn thing.

Did you ever play the sequel? It was highly disappointing.

My youngest daughter learned about the Oregon Trail in 4th grade this past year (in part by playing this game). I had the idea to take a driving vacation this summer along the Oregon trail as an excuse to go to several national parks/historic sites (Yellowstone, Crater Lake, Yosemite, Mt Rushmore, several Oregon Trail sites, etc.) and see a good chunk of the country. She had a lot of fun telling us about some of the sights we saw along the way. It was one of my best ideas ever. It was even better than my realization that if I don't feed them lunch during the summer, dinner tastes better. I don't have good ones all that often. :)

We used to play it on, what had to be, the first computers ever made. It was a pretty fun game.

I remember when they "updated" us to Amazon Trail which was nowhere near as fun. Basically you just floated down the river avoiding logs and occasionally stopped to photograph shit. At least we still had Where in the World is Carmen SanDiego?!

I don't think ENIAC was Apple II compatible. ;)

I don't know, we loaded programs with a cassette deck on a TRS-80 in Middle School but got the diskettes on the Apple II-E in High School. Never played Oregon Trail.
