If I were him I would call in the car being stolen.

was drinking ....... car wreck .... time to bail

should of already called it in stolen but now at least they can't prove he was drinking.

does leaving the scene of an accident count even if it's a 1 car?

Bears player Lance Briggs' Lamborghini found crashed on Edens

By Dan P. Blake | Tribune staff reporter
9:07 AM CDT, August 27, 2007

Illinois State Police today were investigating an overnight crash on the Edens Expressway of a Lamborghini luxury sports car belonging to Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs.

The heavily damaged 2007 Lamborghini Roadster was found around 3:14 a.m. off the northbound lanes of Interstate Highway 94 near Devon Avenue, Illinois State Police Sgt. Theodore Whittier said. No one was found inside the car and there was no indication that anyone was injured in the crash, Whittier said.

Temporary Texas license plates were on the car, but permanent Illinois license plates registering the vehicle to Briggs were found inside, Whittier said.

Lambo stolen is the only thing that will save him.

Yep. I bet he's at home right now scuffing up the lock on his umpteen car garage.

Someone had taken off the Illinois plates and put on temp tags from TX? I'd say that sounds like it was boosted to me.

I am guessing car was bought in TX, delivered to IL with temp tags. It had been registered, but the IL tags had not been put on it.

I'll bet it was stolen by a German named Dietrich.

If it was him driving, I bet he finds a "buddy" that he let borrow the lambo. Paying off a friend is going to be easier than a fine, overall image, and possible missing a couple game checks.

Let this be a lesson to you. If you wreck your car when you've been drinking abandon it and deal with those consequences, they're much easier.

Isnt the lesson to not drink and drive?

No. There have been millions of those lessons and no one heeds that advice. I think it is a lesson on how to avoid getting caught though.

Some actually have heeded the advice and learned that drinking and driving is not going to ever be a cool thing.

With more penalties and more efforts to get drunks of the road, things like this wont be seen as humerous...its very sad in a way.

People ought to know better than to loan Dietrich their Lamborghinis.
