What I found interesting about this:
-Thompson neck and neck with Rudy. This is just Rasmussen's daily poll, and they average out the daily poll in a given week to publish their official numbers, but it's surprising that he's gained so much without being in a debate or being a full-fledged candidate yet.
-Romney and McCain even. That doesn't endear itself to Romney
-I'm wondering where McCain's 12% will land if he calls it quits.
-Huckabee doesn't seem to have gotten a boost from his showing in the Iowa straw poll
-Still no Paul anywhere to be found
-Edwards has almost caught up to Obama. This bolsters my theory about Hillary/Edwards, the first all female ticket
-I wonder how Clinton can have a 20 point lead when I don't know anyone who is voting for her? (snicker)

Clinton detractors made similar statements in New York before she won her Senate seat

New theory: Several ChiefsPlanet liberals say they support Obama, but when they answer that phone call in the privacy of their own homes, they throw their lot in with Hillary.
Go Bowe's my top suspect, being an alma mater homie of the dark witch and all. :Poke:

as for obama, he's my man (unless dr. no gets the republican nomination)...
the more i hear him talk (hussein, that is), the better i like him...
and no, i didn't receive any phone calls and if i did, i would tell them that i'm for ron paul, if only to help get his numbers up so he will get media attention like the front runners recieve...
the longer he stays in the repubican race (and debates), the more we will hear of his views on the important issues of our time...
he's still a bit kooky in some of his positions, but i am really interested in his views on foregn policy and defense...

I clicked your link to see how many people were sampled Cochise. It doesn't say.It just says of "likely primary voters." I'm reading that these are based on about 400 folks. It's also not by state either. On the Dems I read that Obama is actually neck and neck with Hillary and the major polls are wrong; that they are under the MSM umbrella.

Rudy holds a 10+% lead nationally... which doesn't mean much.... because most of the country isn't in tune with what is going on.
Rudy needs to get 2nd or better in Iowa and NH... and then win big on Feb 5 in states like New York, New Jersey, Florida and California.

because most of the country isn't in tune with what is going on.
That's why he's leading.

That's why he's leading.
That's fine with me... He's winning in every state besides Iowa and NH.

Why the **** are they even doing national polls right now? Dumb.
State polls are all that even remotely matter at this point, and even then, only a few states are worth looking at.

Rasmussen is not some fly-by-night polling outlet.

If you are talking Ron Paul he is against almost all of our foreign policy and has some weird concepts of how the US should defend itself.

From what I have heard, Obama is doing well among the upperclass and more liberal folks, but Hillary is doing better with the poor and downtrodden. Dunno how much truth there is to that.

Probably a lot of truth, the poor and downtrodden form a huge portion of Bill Clinton's base.

The old dixiecrat rising again???
I can't see Hillary being attractive to them.
I have such a bias against her though, it may be coloring my judgement.

I'm perfectly aware of their qualifications, but I didn't ask you that.
I heard all these ms conventional polls were based on small samplings right now. Just want data.

On that page.
This survey includes approximately 750-800 Likely Democratic Primary Voters and 600-650 Likely Republican Primary Voters.
 Let's be honest here, you don't believe it because it doesn't have Paul as a contender so you don't want to believe it.

They're all going to vote for her, I don't see why it's necessary to put up the fascade.

Yeah. Maybe some of them want to be a part of the cool, almost hippie-like Paul phenomenon until that wave dies.

Well, a little while back jAZ posted a thread that was very forthright and honest, I thought, that he wanted Obama but acknowleded he was probably a longshot, and that he was going to capitulate to Hillary when it came time to pull the lever. Hey, your views are your views. No need to be in denial about who you are.
I think you're right, here. Most of the people promoting Paul are the anti-war who would be unlikely to have chosen a Republican candidate anyway. They might go third party or stay home, but I predict a pretty definitive egress to Hillary, since the war is the biggest issue for them anyway.

I'm not worried about this. I don't expect Ron Paul to show up big in any of these polls yet. Frankly, I don't personally think he's going to win, though hope springs eternal. I think Hillary and Obama will combine for a Superticket that the GOP won't be able to beat unless there is a terrorist attack.
I do believe that all of these polls are flawed. Otherwise, we'd be coming off a President Gore, or even President Kerry term.

Yeah, there was a minor flap a few days ago when Hillary said (http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/08/24/clinton.terrorism/index.html) that a terrorist attack would give the GOP a political advantage as part of an argument that she would be the best terror fighter among the democrats and the best equipped to deal with this potential GOP advantage. Several of her fellow democrats understandably took her to task (http://presidential-race.net/2007/08/25/democrat-pushback-to-hillary-comment-on-terrorist-attack/) over it. Like I said though, it was a relatively minor deal.
