Kwamie Harris is supposedly on the trading block. He was originally a first round pick. He was the starter at RT, but has started at LT too. He would be a big upgrade for our line. Hopefully King Carl will go after him. He has accumulated alot of extra picks. I wonder what round pick it would take to get him?

Man, I would have loved to have had Joe Staley. I thought that he was certainly coming to KC.

No, he would not.

Kwamie Harris is terrible. Even here in KC I doubt he would be an upgrade.

the game is won and lost on the line. Instead we get Dewayne slow

:hmmm:

Weren't most Planeteers convinced that Staley was a product of a thin O-line draft? A third-round talent that, through good showings at the combine and such, worked his way up the ladder?

If Staley ends up being a stud, great job Niners. All I know is that this place would have come unglued if the Chiefs took him at 23.

For the record, I was thinking that Ben Grubbs would have been a nice selection, so I understand some of the frustration out there. I think we could have had a pretty decent WR in round two. Don't think Herm would have brought us Parker part II.

You take the best player available, simple as that.

Several years from now when we have improved our line we will be glad we grabbed a talented receiver like Bowe. And I don't get this slow crap for Bowe. He ran about a 4.53 at the combine and in the 4.4's in his pro day. Larry Fitzgerald ran a 4.63, Anquan Boldin ran a 4.71, Jerry Rice reportedly ran a 4.65 coming out of college, and other guys like Rod Smith, Terrell Owens, and Hines Ward do not run any faster than Bowe does.

2008 is extremly deep in left tackles, it was wise to wait a year IMO.

Agreed.

Staley was a 3rd round prospect, who somehow shot up right to 1st round from the workouts before the NFL Draft.

IIRC, his 40 time was one of the reasons why he went up.

Kwame Harris sucks. There is a reason he was moved from LT to RT. There was also a reason a rookie beat him out for his job. The Niners are counting on him being the all around back-up this year and then he will depart via FA next year.

The only line he would upgrade would be Oaklands.

Good thing as it appears we need both a LT and a RT, hell we need a new center as well one that fits Herm's up the butt offense.

You can probably do a search where I said "Joe Staley is a 4th Round talent with 1st round workouts". It's entirely possible I was wrong, but I guess time will tell (and hopefully we get Long or Baker for our troubles.

I may be drunk....But I wouldn't be mad if we got rid of Wesley and or Parker and a .....4th round pick...4th round tops.

But anyone to help out at LT or RT sounds like a good idea. And the Chiefs seem to have a tendency to pick up former 1st round picks that flat out ****ing suck.......So why stop now?

However...are there any good guards in next years crop for the draft if the Chiefs did pick up said T?

You arent the only one. I said it, htsimage said it, and I know quite a few others were in the same boat.

Yes it was. And to make it more disheartening, those lowlights were only from last year.

The best was when Vernon Davis left him hanging.
