Jesus....
If they were BOTH to go down?
My guess is that Ray Farmer would be a busy MF'er.
I don't know, maybe Sapp stays at the nickle and Patterson/Brackenridge step up?
Don't even want to think about it.......

I think at that point, Herm suits up and becomes the first player-coach since the 30's.

According to many in the several of other threads, we're screwed with them.
So what the hell?

Welcome to the NFL. No team is has grewat depth at any position.
What if Champ Bailey and Bre Bly go down in Denver?
We are no different than any other team. Thats why when good players get hurt, many teams go to pot.

I remember people chuckling when the 49ers went with an all-rookie backfield one year. Dwight Hicks, Carlton Williamson, Ronnie Lott, and Eric Wright. Those guys did okay.

Jesus and people think I am Dr. Doom.
What's up with Will Poole? I remember most, including myself, were excited to get a veteran CB, but I haven't heard of the guy at all.
He is still on the roster.

The Chiefs would have to get by with the young players on the team.
I imagine some combination of Brackenridge/Patterson/Sapp...

I'll bet you Svitek could fill in at corner just as well as he does LT.

Sapp cannot cover in a man on man defense. He's strictly a dime back IMO. I'd go with either of the young guys as both have broken up plays in man coverage during pre-season games.

You don't need great corners in the Tampa Two, so we CAN get by, but still would much rather have Law & Surtain... especially if they are in great shape like they are supposed to be.

Scanlon laughs in the general direction of Surtain & Law.

Brackenridge and Patterson become starters and end up being one of the greatest cornerback tandems in Chiefs History

I think we could survive. If the line's getting pressure and the linebackers are as good as advertised, it makes life easier for the DBs. That's not to say it would be as good as with the two starters, of course, but I don't think the 32 defense would suddenly be reborn.

Maybe next year. I think Brack goes on IR. At least the PUP. There's no way he can be counted on to play in a game with a torn bicep.

You are right it would probably become a 23 defense with both Law and Surtain out.
