I consider myself an independent, but I'm sure I'm perceived as a lefty by most of you in the midwest. I've been watching some of the Democratic debates and I have to say that Kucinich, although not charasmatic, has the most balls (even more than Hill) of all the candidates and seems to have the policy that most dems say they agree with. You listen to Obama, Clinton and Edwards and you get polished, answer nothing, don't box yourself in answers. At least Kucinish seems willing to fight against Republicans, takes a position on difficult issues and often times speaks honestly from the heart.

Why doesn't he get any appreciation or support?

I'd take satan over Hillary if he was running.

I don't know...

I heard him speak a couple of years ago, and you are right, charisma isn't his forte. I suspect to be able to lead the type of change he is talking about one would need charisma in copious amounts.

I do know that I would vote for him if he won the nomination.

I think it has to do with 2 things.
His ideas are considered pretty "radical" in today's world...
... and he really does look like Amy Poehler with a man-wig on.

"Independent" as in not sure whether you prefer Che or Castro or as in not sure whether you prefer the nanny state of Ted Kennedy or the anarchy of Seattle's WTO protesters?

I like his position on the drug war and the patiot act.

He obviously is pandering to the gays and Mexicans.

He hates guns so he won't get my vote.

He wants to legalize discrimination against whitey too.

Kucinich has absolutely zero southern appeal. I doubt he could win either Florida or Ohio.

I'm saying that if you think this country is divided now wait to see what happens if she is elected. People will be brawling in the streets, can't wait.

Maybe that won't be a bad thing....say if the divide prevents a lot of what she wants from being passed into law. She'll still have to have Congress for her domestic policies. I think she has a shot at winning the whole thing. Then it will be necessary to vote GOP if it looks like she will win, to keep them at each other's throats up in the real DC. Don't forget it was her Hillary Care that brought the GOP back into congress. Gridlock can have advantages.

Meanwhile while they fight and point fingers we can get on with our lives.

He's not electable. To win an election, besides just getting your own party base behind you, you also have to be able to capture the swing vote, and maybe steal a few votes from the opposition camp for good measure. A Dem that can steal a few Republican votes, capture the swing vote, and galvanize the Democratic base can win. Kucinich can't do that. Hillary probably won't be able to steal Republican votes, but she can probably get the swing vote, if she plays it right. Obama can probably do both. I don't think Edwards can do it, either.

Hey... I like Kucinich... I even like Nader. Just keep them fuggers away from the elections so they don't end up enabling some neocon Republican slopeheads to trash our country even further.

To you someone is a democrat unless they shoot their friends in the face and waddle to the poles for egg laying.

Where did this "egg laying" stuff about Dick Cheney come from?

Where did this "egg laying" stuff about Dick Cheney come from?well, reports are mixed...

some would say that this proves that dick cheney is some sort of bird...

others would say that this proves that he is an alligator...

i would go with alligator eggs, but we don't know for sure...

maby when he writes his memoir he'll reveal the secrets of the eggs...

Kucinich is the Ron Paul of the Democrats, a rebel and out of touch with the party.

I agree with this analogy, and I'll take it a step further. Both of these candidates are out of touch with the party, but both of these candidates actually represent what each party should stand for in an ideal world.

In my wildest dreams, we get to pick between Kucinich and Paul in the upcoming election.

Unfortunately I wake up and realize this will be yet another election where I am supposed to try to pick the lesser of two evils. :banghead:

Why not Kucinich???

Three words....

He is unelectable.

Period. End of discussion.

Then again, the Democratic "front-runner" is also 'unelectable.

:hmmm:
