This a simple but sharp looking helmet:

I guess it's individual taste. I find it bland and ugly. Then again, I never really liked much of anything from Texas...

They same could be said about our helmet being bland but I have always appreciated the simple designs much better myself...I hate the Donkeys and the Ravens previous design.

At least there's no trendy (read:queer) colors like "teal" on it.

'Only 2 things come from Texas: Steers and queers'.

Perhaps, but I find an Arrowhead "cool" because it symbolizes something that is cool to me, IE bows and arrows. I find something like a bull, or the buffalo on the Bills' helmet, pretty lame. But again, that's just me...

However, I'm a bit biased. :)
It's really too bad that I'm such a diehard Chiefs fan, I could have really enjoyed being a Texans fan. But, I digress....
OK I'm sure I'll get slammed for these ideas, but what the hell.
#1 Chainlinked fence, with crossed M-16's in the back ground.
#2 Illegal imagrant in handcuffs.
#3 Hand collecting a welfare check (see above).
#4 An electric chair.
OK slam away..... :D

Well, at least you left out BD'S(Branch Davidians), or a minority being dragged by a truck.
That would have been in bad taste.
Looks better then a Picture Of General Houston on the side of it, besides the Mascot is a Bull named Toro, and his favorite song is of course Woolly Bully!
Of course being a Chiefs Fan ( transplant )from Houston I allways did like the Arrow Head on the side of the Chiefs Helmet.
#4 should be lethal injection.
I didn't know that Houston was famous for chastity belts. If their choice of helmet decal is any indication, I guess we should expect them to emphasize defense, huh?

I like the design, but I still think the name is TOTALLY GAY!!
If the design were anything else it should be a Duelly Pickup Truck with the yellow lights pulling a horse trailer. I guess they reserved that for when Oklahoma gets a team and names it the "Oklahomans".
OOOOOO Be scared of the Texans?

If I were awarded an expansion team, screw the fans naming contests that these guys always have, I'd just name my team the Gladiators and design a Roman Coliseumesque stadium, and kick back and watch the profits roll in...

The Chiefs used to be the Texans, not Houston Texans, rather the Dallas Texans, yet not a big difference. So....now your saying the past nickname and history of our team is gay?!?!?!
You best back the f*ck up before you get b*tch slapped you skinny lil fool......jk :D
I think whats GAY about it, is they couldn't come up with something original. It's like there try to steal our history.
Besides which it's lucky Al davis isn't our owner, or he would sue them over using out name. :D

I was thinking the same thing. Does anyone really wear white helmets anymore?
Also, I can't tell from the photo but the star on the helmet tells me they're red, white and blue? Something about TEXAS and the Stars and Stripes theme that just doesn't work for me.

Actually guys there was a Dallas Texan team before Lamar Hunt used the name. They were an NFL franchise that folded in 1952.
05-22-2001, 01:18 AM
well...uh...yup! I won't swagger on this one. I think the Chiefs' old name was and still is gay. Glad they changed it. Thanks for the Chiefs History refresher though.
05-22-2001, 01:24 AM
I think it was an acceptable name for the times but now is "dated".
05-22-2001, 01:32 AM
I'm just glad Lamar didn't do the gayest thing he's ever considered doing which was keeping the name after moving to KC, thus giving us our beloved Kansas City Texans...
05-22-2001, 08:54 AM
I totally agree with that.

The Cardinals is the only white helmet that looks good....something about that plain white with the bright red bird...simply but looks really good...
I think the Texans could have been more imaginative and picked a base color for their helmets....like oiler blue...I want it to be the way it suppose to be...
St. Louis Cardinals...

Their mascot "Toro" also looks kinda gay.
Now KC Wolf, there is a mascot with style... :)

Quit whinning about them stealing the name from the Dallas Texans.I didn't hear one Jets fan complain when Tennessee became the Titans.
05-22-2001, 01:56 PM
I too think the helmet looks cool! I bought this one (mini helmet) several months ago as soon as they became available. As for the name...They should have been a little more original but then, Rockets was already taken! ;)
The helmet is an NFL Prop to display the Logo, the final color etc. hasn't been decided yet, that will happen in August or early september.

So, you callin DV gay?
OK, I'll get a new sig tomorrow. I'm also sick of it, to tell you the truth... :D
