So, I'm driving to little Caesar's to get the kids some pizza and listening to 610 Sports. Commercials come on so I hit the preset button to 810 to hear Sean Salisbury say

"The Chiefs are pathetic. If they win 5 games this year, they should stand on their heads till their ears turn red. This team is just pathetic. The Raiders will blow them out!"

Eric Allen added, "3-4 wins this year - 5 will be an achievement for this team."

While I realize that Herm's slow start is problematic (yes, Herm, the pre season DOES matter), the situation is nowhere near as bad as these guys make it out. If we do beat Oakland or make the playoffs, we need to remind ESPN radio's illustrious commentators of their week-burial of the 2007 Chiefs. I think ALL these problems are fixable and that KC will recover nicely during that fat mid-season part of the schedule when we have a lot of home games.

Yes, it is that bad. I'm watching the Raiders game right now, and I'm sorry to tell you this but it looks like they've figured out this "offense" thing. Certainly better than we have anyway.

10 years ago the Chiefs lost to Denver on opening day by an almost identical score (19-3). We were all ready to throw Marty/Elvis under the bus. Then KC won a remarkable 13 out of 15.

I really don't think our problems are unfixable.

I don't think 4 wins is out of line. The homer in me wants them to win them all. But the realist in me says this is gonna be a long season. I'm ready and will ride the bandwagon even if its a bumpy ride.

Oh it's unfixable. Herm is not even Marty. Herm is one dumb motherf*cker that doesn't know anything about x and o's.

That Denver team had the best record in the NFL the year before and then went on to win two straight Super Bowls. A little different than the Texans.

Don't compare that to Denver. That Denver team was outstanding, there's no shame in that loss.

This team got owned and completely destroyed by the Houston Texans.

Honestly I've been watching all these games no team looked worse than the Chiefs. So I can see why they'd say that. Well Atlanta was pretty close, them and us looked the worst.

The only way this season is a bust is if Huard gets injured.
I saw a lot of positives:

The D held Houston to 13 points on the road Bowe looks great MacIntosh is a house at OLT and kept Huard's blind side safe LJ will be back at 100% soon The running game looked very strong, converting 3rd downs Huard will be fine - bad bounces hurt him todayKCJ

Rose colored glasss are neccessary today :)

Uh what, I'd rather see Huard not playing. To act like an injury to him would ruin the year seriously just made me start cracking up.

If these Chiefs win the next 13 of 15 if will be more than remarkable. A government investigation should be launched.

They lost. At home. To Detroit. I don't care how many TD's they scored. When Detroit walks in to your stadium and waxes you 36-21, you are an (equally) horrible squad.

It looks like we might need to worry about the Raiders. They were only one point away from being an Arena League team today.

Denver went to the SB that year. Houston will be lucky to go 6-10.

Dude they were 3 for 11 on 3rd downs....not great. The Texans were 9 of 14. McIntosh is injured. LJ is so far out of step it is going to take him 3 more games to get in sync with the line. Sorry I am leaving my rose colored glasses in the box this year.

They're pretty much correct.

I'll watch all season, but I accepted before it started, what this season was going to be.

The Oline is not on Par for success, Huard and Croyle are both playing like turds, the WRs haven't shown anything and Kennison is out....

Oh yeah...and they can't kick a 30 yd fg.

ESPN is right.....they're just late to the party.

Just enjoy this season for what it is going to be.

Its going to be alot less heartbreaking for me this year.

Johnny, who is your satellite/cable provider - because I'm definitely subscribing to them whoever they are. If thei broadcast of the game was that much better than the one I saw I want to watch it every Sunday.
