QUESTION: What happened to these franchises that took them from habitual losers season after season too dynamic Super Bowl winning dynasties?

ANSWER: New Front Office Management. GM's that held themselves accountable and Owners that wanted to win SB's not just make money!

If we had GM's and Owner's like the ones that run NE and Indy we would be the darling of the NFL.

Both NE and INDY look strong this year. Actually stronger than a year ago! Indy loses all those great players to free agency in the off-season and actually looks stronger than before! How does that happen?

MANAGEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking forward to the end of the CP era.

Both of those franchises were bad for a very long time. Bottom of the Barrel bad.

NE from like 87-92

Indy even longer: late 80's to late 90's till Manning arrived.

But your basically right. Its time for change in KC. Has been for about 10 years now.

Remember how bad we sucked before we got CP?

Thats pretty much the point. Yes, they were bad, so they gave the organization a complete bath and it worked wonders. Its time for it to happen again. Change is a good thing whether people like it or not.

It honestly feels like we'll never see the other side of Carl Peterson.

It's been a painful administration.
I'm ready for change.

There is no doubt it will eventually happen, but repeating the capn obvious after the first game of the season is a waste of time and energy. Carl is the only common denominator...we all know it, but in reality, it comes down to Clark...if you think it's not gonna change, then why waste your time? You are getting exactly what you expected.

Most of this board based the transition to youth based on Croyle starting. It wasn't until Huard was named the starter that all hell broke loose. While I'm in the above as far as starting Croyle and I understand the frustration, if people are already convinced they are going to be horrible, then why the shock when it appears to come true?

Clark has already stated that he is looking at three and five year plans, and will give barometers for salary numbers, but will be pretty much hands off, just like his Dad.

It is what it is...and it is Carl basically being to afraid to roll with Brodie...I honestly think that this one move would've said not only are we playing for today, but the future as well...

and it still might happen...ask Dwayne Bowe.

Honestly, overall its been highly successful obviously, and to Carls credit he nearly did pull off the "5 year plan" when Montana got us to the AFC Championship in Martys 5th year here. They havent even come close since then.

Hindsites always 20/20, but i wish Carl would have left when Marty left. That was pretty much the end of a era. Carl and the Chiefs have been treading water for nearly 10 years after Marty and the death of DT.

I thought CP said that Herm was his last HC hiring before passing the baton to a new GM? I figure that 2 more sub prime seasons would mean a new regime and new HC.

Good points, Stevie.

And I'm wondering why people think things are gonna change when Carl is gone?

There's a VERY good chance that the next GM will be Bill Kuharich or Denny Thum.

So basically, Carl Peterson Jr.

The more things change......

I understand and agree with you. It's just that the disdain for this thread probably has more to do with the thread starter than it does with the topic.

To me, it's a different perspective on the same ol' same ol'.

strong GM and Owner

the owner keeps the pressure on the GM and makes sure the financial part of the business is there.

the GM makes sure that the player personnel part is steady and doesn't go up and down with each head coach.

our drafts should suck on whichever side of the ball our current head coach stinks at. :shake:
