Got a new box, and getting ready for the 64-bit experience.

New Box is a Dell Optiplex 740, with 2 250 GB SATA drives (planning on dual booting between XP 32-bit and Vista 64-bit)
AMD Athlon 64 x2 5200+
256 MB Video
4 GB RAM
IEEE 1394 (Firewire) on the board

Presonus Firepod, connected to system via Firewire
E-MU XBoard25 MIDI Controller

Software:

SONAR 6.2 Producer Edition
SONAR Rapture
Reason 4.0 (out later this month)

I know some of y'all aren't big fans of Vista, but everything I'm working with here has certified drivers... and with dual booting, I'll ave my bases covered.

Would like to think Dane for his tips, especially regarding SONAR and the Presonus unit.

Awesome!

Please let us know how it goes with Vista. I haven't made the jump (even though I own a copy) because my system is so complicated (Quad Duo Core, Magma Expansion Chassis w/4 UAD-1's, PCI-E Powercore MkII, iLok). Once Nuendo 4 is released and confirmed to work properly, I'll make the move. I can't wait to finally be able to get past this silly 3 gig RAM restriction.

I'm sure your system will rock. Good luck!
