The mrs and I went to a sneak preview Saturday night of The Kingdom (http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809740161/video/3690867/20070813/122/3690867-100-flash-s.40795509-,3690867-300-wmv-s.40795492-,3690867-300-flash-s.40795519-,3690867-1000-wmv-s.40795503-,3690867-100-wmv-s.40795486-,3690867-700-flash-s.40795529-,3690867-1000-flash-s.40795547-,3690867-700-wmv-s.40795498-,3690868-2700-qtv-s.40795589-,3690868-10300-qtv-s.40795608-,3690868-6800-qtv-s.40795601-) starring Jamie Foxx,Chris Cooper and Jennifer Garner.

The tagline about the last 30 minutes being so intense you can't leave your seat is dead on.While I'm sure there will be those that disagree with me about this being a great movie seeing that movies are so subjective,I was hooked from the opening sequence(during the intros)that follows a video timeline of oil being discovered in Saudia Arabia to the present,so if you go make sure you're on time.

The movie is extremely violent but more than once I found my emotions getting the better of me as I experienced everything from sadness to frustration to outright anger.

Of course I won't give anything away but I will say that the final scenes between the FBI crew and then the Saudia Arabian boy and his mother caused me to shake my head and then say "wow" outloud.

Peter Berg has turned into a pretty good director. I was a little worried about this one, because it was supposed to have opened like in April originally. Thanks for the info. Ill have to go check this out.

I would say America rules, however, there are certain politicians in the movie that made me rather angry.

I saw them filming part of this movie during my trips to Mesa, AZ. Where else can you find an area in the U.S. that's nothing but dirt, rocks, and dirt?

BTW, I can't wait to see it.

I think the real question is: Was Jennifer Garner HOT in it??

Jennifer Garner would be hot if she crawled out of a cess pool.

And yes, I am looking forward to this one.

Definitely a good film, but I'm not sure I'd go so far as to call it great. Pretty on par with films like Blackhawk Down... definitely worth watching, but I'm not sure I'll be talking about it 10 years from now.

Just saw this bad boy last night. I liked it, but it was sad and depressing.

Kind of like the movie we saw last week about the guy who came across the drug deal gone bad and stole the 2 million dollars and wouldn't talk to the sheriff who was played by the guy who was in that movie where he trained mercenaries and had to chase down one of his trainees who had gone mustang played by the guy who was in that movie where he was a badass, corrupt cop who threatened that girl until he got his head shoved in the toilet.

Oh my God, I absolutely loved No Country For Old Men! Absolutely incredible. With each passing film, the Coen Brothers solidify their place in film history.

You know, that was one of only two or three movies I've ever seen where strangers actually stopped in the hallway outside the theater and talked with each other about how they felt about it.

A very affecting film.

There was a lot of typing involved in that post, Mr. Skip Towne. Do you mind just reading it again?

Wait a ding dong hang dang minute, here ... did you start this thread, or something?

I would be willing to call Blackhawk Down "great".

I hated blackhawk down. Seeing incompetence on a regular basis just pissed me off.

Interesting. I think you are the first person I've seen say anything bad about it.

To make it two, I thought it was one of the most overhyped movies I have ever seen.

Make it three - I hated BHD. War movies are my favorite genre as well.

Apparently, I'm a movie going simpleton. Or just easily amused. Kind of like Peter Griffin.

Lol. The second that I started reading this, the TV just did a promo for Family Guy.
