I read somewhere that there is a lawsuit pending saying that any publicly broadcast signal should be intercept-able for free. These guys are likely playing off of that.

PS, they're going to lose that lawsuit. If the whole DTV suing everyone with smart card equipment debacle didn't teach you anything then go ahead and buy one of these. Let me know what the letter says when you get sued.

As I understand it, he says you can program any city's local channels. I'd like to get one if I could KC locals.

It's not operating one that is going to get you nabbed. How are you planning on BUYING it? Check? Credit Card? Are they going to ship it to your house?

Good luck.

cool concept, but is it worth prison or a hefty fine?

I know people with them.

As I understand, the equipment itself is legal.....its the program you load onto it that gives them every channel under the sun that makes it...not.

i know about 4 people who use and love them. very easy to set up. they haven't messed with the DVR or HD units though, sad they'd wait till better ones are on the market.

I'd still rather not know anyone that knows anyone, but that's certainly better.
