I'll be damned, they actually started rolling them out. Not everything, but quite a few, including A&E, CNN, History Channel, NFL Network, TBS, TNT and several additioanl pay movie channels.

I hope they add Scifi to the list by November for HD Galactica. :thumb:

I was on a satelitte message board the other day and a few people were complaining about audio dropping out and picture quality.

Thats awesume though. Its about damn time. I dont think they are going to make that "100 HD channels" promise in 2007 though.

I just noticed it right before I posted. I haven't been surfing around much lately, so I really have no idea how long the new channels have been HD functional. I also don't have the world's greatest or biggest TV, so I probably won't pick up on flaws that people with newer/bigger/better TVs might.

And I also agree, this is long overdue. But, better late than never.

oooh.. sweet! Too bad I don't have one of DirecTv's shitty DVRs. I have a DirecTv HD Tivo, so I still have my fingers crossed that we may see a new MPEG 4 Tivo DVR sson.

Thats funny! I noticed that myself when I came home from work today and was flipping through the channels. When I got the new 5 LNC dish and the HD box the installer said they would be getting more HD channels soon! SWEET! :thumb:

You all suck. Comcast's HD selection is pretty lacking right now compared to Dish and DTV.

YEP. Got it. Thanks. Might as well watch the "N" not like the Braves or Cards are going to see post season. heh

You can say that again. The Cards crumpled like an empty Bud Light can. Oh well. At least they won it all before they shat themselves.

No I know what he's talking about.

I have Dish Network and while the NFL Network says it's in HD and all that, I've never seen anything they broadcast in HD.

They broadcast some of the regular shows in SD. But they often show games and such in HD.

That's the frustrating part. Just because it's an HD channel doesn't mean the content is HD. In fact, most of it is not unless it's HDNET, MOJO, DiscoveryHD, and a couple others. I think it's funny that DTV is advertising all these HD channels when in reality many of the programs are not HD.

I noticed that the other night. Two of several channels that were HD, much different and I thought it was odd, but did not make the connection to being more channels.

That has to do with the tv company. Not direct tv. Direct tv has the channel in HD provided that the channel has the program in HD. Some programs are not going to be in HD because HD wasnt used when some programs/Tv shows were being made.

Direct tv is not doing anything wrong. Again, its all up to the TV station to get their camera's in HD.

when I lived in Phoenix last year that is the way the local channels were listed. 1 in standard format, the other in HD.

I also noticed the other night I now have MHD in HD. I think that 1 was rolled out within the last week.

I didn't say DTV was doing anything wrong. My point is that people buy all these HD channels thinking everything is in HD. Nothing could be further from the truth.
