On Dish Network this weekend through Monday (10/11 thru 10/15). Started today. Channels 290 thru 294.

BTW Skip,
this is the 3rd weekend in a row that we've had a premium channel free preview. 2 weeks ago it was Showtime. Last weekend it was HBO. ;)

Ain't that the truth. I went through all the channels this morning to setup movies to be recorded. Man, I have never seen so much soft core porn in the channel listings. But there are a few good (regular)movies that I am recording, too.

Ain't that the truth. When I signed up for DTV in the mid 90s I got all the premium channels for a year for free. Sheesh! What a waste. At that time they were showing Ferris Bueller's Day Off non-stop. Enough already. I didn't buy any movie channels after that and won't ever again.

I purchased HBO just because they were featuring KC in the Hard Knocks series...I couldn't wait to cancel it. They played the same crap over and over and over with just the occasional decent/recent movie. What a waste of 15 bucks.

Dish Network equipment sucks.

Based on what? I have had a dual tuner DVR (522, I think), a single receiver (322?), and now the HD dual tuner DVR (722). No problems with them. They work fine.

I used to have it. Until I decided that I never watched it unless I was watching soft core porn with the same 5 women in them. Every so often, they had something on I liked. I still have HBO, which seems to have more movies that I like.

I'm still wanting to know where you got that idea. Is this what Skip told you? :shake:

Yep. That's why I don't pay for premium channels. And I'm not really interested in their programming, either. Sopranos, Weeds, Californication....bleh. Nothing worthwhile there, IMO. But I do like the free preview weekends so that I can record some movies that I've been meaning to watch. The ones that I don't catch on there, I'll just add to my Netflix.

I used to work for Dish Network several years ago (2004)....I had DTV at the time but I thought it would be fun to get Dish @ the same time to see if there was any difference and it was free since I was an employee.....so I got the 522....3 days after getting it it went kaput....it was broke, just flat quit working...so I sent it back in and waited about a week for a replacement (thank god I had DTV still) got it back and experienced horrible signal outages....heavy rain- no signal, stiff wind - no signal, cat farts - no signal...how is DTV through these horrible storms? CLEAR AS A BELL NO SIGNAL PROBLEMS....that is why Dish Network SUCKS

Well, I will tell you that I wasn't completely forthcoming in my previous post. When I first got my 722 receiver, it messed up when I tried programming some other devices to the TV2 remote. They thought the remote was bad. Sent me a new remote a day or two later and it wouldn't work, either. They ended up replacing my tuner. It didn't take a week to receive it, though. Just a few days. This replacement has been working fine for the past month and a half.

As far as your signal issues, I would say that sounds like a problem with the installation. They probably didn't make sure you were getting a good signal. Did Skip do your install? ........j/k
Do you have things that block it? Tree limbs, nearby buildings, etc.?

My signal rarely goes out. Only when it rains really hard does that ever happen. And from what I have heard/read, that is typical of any satellite system. It is not specific to one or the other.

Softcore porn sucks.
One time I was watching a softcore porn on Showtime and here was Joey from Friends doing some chick in an elevator. Like whoa wtf Joey.
