or so she thinks she is. :banghead: :cuss:

It's people like her who are the best ambassadors against religion and Christianity in particular.

Maybe, just maybe, she's crossed the line for the last time... ROFL

Coulter: We Want Jews To Be "Perfected"
Conservative Commentator Says An All-Christian America Would Be Better

Oct. 11, 2007

(CBS) Ann Coulter is stirring up controversy again.

The conservative commentator said this week that the nation would be better off if all Americans were Christian and that she wants "Jews to be perfected, as they say."

Appearing on the CNBC show The Big Idea, Coulter was asked to give her version of a better America. She told the show's host, Donny Deutsch, that it would look like New York City during the 2004 Republican National Convention.

Pressed for details, Coulter said, "People were happy. They're Christian. They're tolerant. They defend America ..."

"Christian ... so we should be Christian?" Deutsch interrupted. "It would be better if we were all Christian?"

Coulter answered "Yes" once, and after being asked the same question again by an obviously surprised Deutsch, answered "Yes" a second time.

When Coulter tried to shift the conversation to the diverse congregations in Christian megachurches, the show's host brought the topic back to Coulter's statements about Jews.

Media Matters, the liberal media watchdog group which is publicizing the encounter, provided this transcript:

DEUTSCH: ... we should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians, then, or ...

COULTER: Yeah.

DEUTSCH: Really?

COULTER: Well, it's a lot easier. It's kind of a fast track.

DEUTSCH: Really?

COULTER: Yeah. You have to obey.

DEUTSCH: You can't possibly believe that.

COULTER: Yes.

"We just want Jews to be perfected, as they say," Coulter said later in the show. "That is what Christianity is. We believe the Old Testament, but ours is more like Federal Express."

"Candidly, I had her on not to talk about politics but to talk about her brand strategy," Deutsch later told AdWeek . "Whether you like her or not, her strategy is to be extreme and that's a way to make money. But because it's her, it drifted into politics."

"I simply asked her a question, something like, 'If the world was her way, what would it look like?' And she said something to the effect that everybody would be Christians," Deutsch told AdWeek. "I was somewhat baffled and asked if that meant there would be no Buddhists or Jews and I think her words were, 'perfected' Jews [would be OK]."

As bad as it sounds on the surface, and I'm not fan of Ann Coulter, she's....I dislike saying this...but she's right in some way here.

Christians want everyone in the world to be a true, loving, follower and believer that Jesus is God, He is the Son, that He came down from Heaven, that He died and was risen, and He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

Does that mean we should get rid of Jews or other religions? Absolutely not. Does that mean America should become a Christian nation? Absolutely not. Is she filled with hate or, as rexcjake says "a putz"? I believe so. Would it be nice if she moved to a remote island with no electricity or satelitte coverage? Yes.

I do wonder what the media response would be if some Ultra-conservative Jewish figure pubicly called for all Christians to renounce Jesus as a false prophet, and embrace the true faith once more.

As for Ann, she's just a Right Wing Al Franken.

Why do people care what she says? Ignore her. She's getting rich with her little corner of the debate.

Yep. Thread over.

You have a point. I've not heard Al say that specifically.

My point was that both make their living off of demonizing their political opposition, as does Rush, Michael Moore, Hannity, Maher, O'Reilly, etc.

Not much difference in my eyes between any of them.

Well, I'd probably use the term "paid shills" but the statement would remain the same.

There are degrees of stepping in dog crap as well (just the toe/the whole foot), but none of them are really a good thing.

Same thing here. JMO.

So are you.

So is Duhnese.

If you don't like Ann Coulter, don't read her stuff and don't watch her when she is on TV.

I can say that I've only seen her in video form here and I've never read her stuff.

Folks like Coulter are going to get Hillary elected to the White House.

I honestly think they want that. It will give them something to sell books about for four years.

Yes she does. Who was it that got the idea of "infallibility" into the forefront?

She's always in the national debate, and that's why people hate her so much.

Is she over the top? Yes. But it's called marketing, it's buzz. She creates it and profits from it.

You have every right to judge her particularly since she's a public figure....who I might add indulges in judging others. IMO to never judge any bad behavior is unethical.

This sounds right to me. Maybe it's left out of the article, but I didn't see her arguing that Jews should be forced to accept Jesus as the son of God or risk having their heads cut off. It sounds to me like she's saying we'd all be better off if we were all Christian which seems like a fairly unremarkable sentiment for a Christian to have.

This looks like another case of people looking for something to be offended by just like Joe Biden's comment about how clean and articulate Obama was.

Having said that, I'm sure she knew how the comment would be taken so I'm not suggesting it was as innocent a statement as Biden's was.

That said:

Most people who follow a religion believe that their religion is the "correct" one and that everybody (who wants to be on the correct spiritual path) should be a part of their religion. I don't think she meant that it should be FORCED on them. She was talking about her perfect world... Much the same way I would say:

In my perfect world, all women would be exactly as attracted to me as I am to them. That way, women I'm not interested in would back off, and women I am interested in would fawn all over me.

That doesn't mean I'm going around FORCING them to be attracted to me. It would just be really nice...

For some reason, all I could think of after reading your last line was

"It rubs the lotion on it's body"

For the most part I agree with you 100%. All the spoke holes on both sides just regurgetate the talking points over and over, and nothing ever gets done.

Then people throw a fit when someone actually comes out and says something that upsets people.

Coulter is a douche, and so are the rest of her ilk. Flip the station when she's on, and you would be a lot better off.

Crappy marketing this time. I guess that's why she is pulling this tired old schtick again. I keep a pretty close eye on wonkish books and didn't know about it. Of course, I wouldn't waste money on it in the first place. That won't cause her any problems as I'm sure she can find a few credulous mouth breathers to pony up just like her last release.

As for her "You have to obey" nonsense, I guess her inner Dominatrix is coming out in public again.
