I think they were weekend getaways...

"You ARE a brain surgeon, right?"

"No, but I am scheduled to be systematically executed at a Nazi Inn Express today."

Then again, I don't feel the rebel flag is racist, either. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I always thought these were fat farms...you know, spend a week or a year and you lose more weight than you ever could dieting...of course it is a shame that they accedently replaced the steam in the sauna with deadly gas...and I heard the heat regulators on the tanning booths malfunctioned and a lot of people fried...

no joking matter?...when we lose our abiltiy to laugh in the face of adversity, we lose our ability to live.

Joe - Weight farms, damn and I was sure they were S&M escapes that never came up with a "safe" word.

On a side note, Joe, I have determined that you can out-smack broncofan after gettig into one with him yesterday. The best he could do was name calling.

Seriously this is just one of those things in my opinion that you don't jest about. I don't know anyone's background here, but I have personally spoken with a man who was in the first Army units to enter Aushwitz after the war, and if you heard what I did you would not be laughing.

DJay - There is nothing good that anyone can say about what happened at the concentraion camps, I think everyone knows most of what happened there and understand the stories and that it should never happen again.

Number 8 is exactly true. This should never be joked about. Every time I watch Schindler's List, I cry.

DoktorSmith

Sorry folks, but it's like the old saying..."if I don't laugh, I'll cry."

Jokes and laughter about an obscene, tragic event is just a way to cope...and while the Nazi's acts were horrible, the atrocitites continue but now by so called civilized people...I'm talking about infantacide which is what abortion is...now, to me that is no laughing matter....

58Forever,

How does abortion affect you personally, unless it's your child being aborted? Does it make you "feel bad" or "bring you down"?

I've said this before, and I'll say it again: If God has such a problem with abortion, why doesn't he do something about it?

AustinChief

What's abortion got to do with a weekend getaway at a Nazi concentration camp???

You all are sick...

I can make a joke at questionable things, but this is where I have to chime in...

I've been to Dachau...even though the war had been over for years, the "showers" still had an odor...there are still bodies burried there in unmarked graves...even at 15 I was able to sense the absolute evil in the place...hell, there were a group of 80 teenagers, and not one of us make a joke, fooled around or acted like "normal" teenagers...you just can't do it. If you were blindfolded, taken to a former death camp and left there, you wouldn't need to be told what had happened...you can just feel it.

I know it's Friday, but lets take it easy guys and gals...I'm not Jewish (I am Catholic, however. Or at least that's what my family tells me) nor did I have any relatives die there. This is just something that, while it should never be forgotten, shouldn't be joked with. Bad Karma.

58forever
As far as abortion goes two things:
1) If we want to settle the issue, put it up to a vote of the people.
2) One d!ck, no vote.

How does 500 tons of heavy sarcasm somehow float over everyone's head?

I understand the sarcasm...just don't agree with the subject it is sarcasing (okay, so that's not a word, but what the hell) http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif

I can have just as little taste, respect or class as the next person, just not on this subject. Sorry...

I don't think anyone here is perpetuating the idea that Nazi concentration camps are fun or good or desirable...

If you don't get the sarcasm, then don't read the thread...<BR>

I realize that. But one question: Why was the thread even started? Was it to poke fun at the flag thread? Was there nothing else we could make fun of? I know I can just ignore it, but why should I? I have an opinion, just as you all do. That's what makes this forum so great...we can all agree to disagree. It's a beautiful thing http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif I know you all don't mean any ill-will by this thread. I just thought I would chime in.

Gentlemen,

This thread was not intended to "make fun" of the holocaust.

The sole purpose of this thread was to mock the thread... "Rebel flag is it racist".

That argument is TIRED, we've rehashed it over and over again. No one is going to change another person's viewpoint on that issue or any other issue regarding racism. So I created this thread to mock the other one.

I have another question.

first let me say I don't have a problem joking about this subject...that's just the sick person I am...I don't condone it, and I think it is one of the worst things to happen in recorded history, however...

Do I have to be contunually reminded of it?...movies, documentaries, news reports...

I know, I know...forget history and it repeats itself...but isn't it time for healing...and I don't see how you can heal if you are constanly reminded of the pain...

Yes and yes. yes we need to remember--just look at Kosovo...the same thing JUST happened, although on smaller scale. Scary thought. And yes, it is time to heal..but wounds like this one are much, much harder to let go of. Especially when reports that the holocaust never happened keep surfacing...sad very sad.

Once again, I apologize for jumping upon a thread that was supposed to be mocking...I'm a little new at this (not just on this board, but in general), and am still figuring out the personalities behind the names...I'll get better!

AZ-
As are way too many other topics that litter this BB from time to time. Admittedly this was ham fisted and inappropriate, but I see all too many innocuous posts get twisted into ugly rants that I find incredibly offensive. There are enough potentially mean-spirited sentiments floating around out there without hate-baiting topics like rebel flags. With all the quick witted, genuinely funny contributors on this bulletin board, why generate topics that can only wind up in the mud? I appreciated Cannibal's attempt, misdirected as it might be, to shine a light on this B.S.

Actually AZ, I couldn't think of a MORE sarcastic comparison to use for a post. "Bill Clinton: Liar, or Choirboy?" just doesn't have the same bite to it as Cannibal's title. Cannibal was going for sarcasm, and I think he got there in the most effective and efficient manner possible.
