View Full Version : Past player stats and info

I was curious if anyone knew where to get stats on players not only on the team now, but in the past.
Like what was Christian Okoye's height and weight?
What were Dan Saleamua's career stats?
What number was Marc Collins?
How many yards did Deberg throw for while in KC?
What college was John Alt from?
Stuff like that. The general info you get on CURRENT players from nfl.com or other sites. Is there any place out there with stats over the history of the Chiefs franchise?

Okoye was 6'0 263
Alt was from Iowa
I will have to look up the rest.

I know the last one without looking...
John Alt was one of the best Iowa Hawkeye linemen ever...

Dan Saleamua was my favorite KC DT (actually, NoseTackle - we ran Cowher's 3-4 back then ;))
I still wear my #97 jersey to games :)

The team publishes something it calls the Chiefs Media Guide. It is the size of a small bible or medium phone book and it has everything you ever wanted to know including jersey numbers, year-by-year stats all the way back to 1960, etc... but I doubt that there is any online source with that kind of detail.
I wouldn't know how to get a media guide other than the way I got mine: Gunther sent it to me!

I just found www.football-reference.com
It should have all the statisitics you could want, except for the personal information (college, height, weight, etc.). There's a ton of info there broken down by team, player, year, etc.

Coulda sworn Mark Collins wore #25 when he played for the Chiefs....

I'm sure Gunther already has the Redskins media guide all wrapped up for you as we speak.

I found that Mark Collins wore #24 in 1994 and in 1995 he wore #25. In 1994 the #25 was worn by Doug Terry. So actually he wore both numbers while playing for the Chiefs.

I learned something today.

I think Packfan has every media guide from the first year up to date. Perhaps that would be a good bet? :D

Thanks for the info guys! :)
Is there anyplace else to grab one? I'm not on Gunther or Carl's speed-dial, so my odds of getting one from Arrowhead Drive are about the same as landing Meg Ryan....:D
Can I nab one at a Hastings or Waldenbooks, or order it from the Chiefs themselves? Price be no obstacle! :D

Call the Chiefs Media Relations Department at Arrowhead. I think they charge about $15.00 for the current guide. It should be available around the 1st of August or maybe even now.
