CHINA IS TRYING TO KILL OUR NEXT GENERATION! It's time we call for a boycott!
ORK (CNN) -- U.S. safety officials have voluntarily recalled about 4.2 million Chinese-made Aqua Dots toys contaminated with a powerful "date rape" drug that has caused some children to vomit and lose consciousness upon ingesting the contents.
Bindeez, which were named Australia's toy of the year, contain a chemical that converts into a "date rape" drug.
Scientists have found the highly popular holiday toy contains a chemical that, once metabolized, converts into the toxic "date rape" drug GHB (gamma-hydroxy butyrate), U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) spokesman Scott Wolfson told CNN.
"Children who swallow the beads can become comatose, develop respiratory depression or have seizures," a CPSC statement warned.
"Anyone with Aqua Dots at home should throw them out," CPSC spokeswoman Julie Vallese said. The toy was named toy of the year in Australia and recently made Wal-Mart Store Inc's list of top 12 Christmas toys.
Wal-Mart on Thursday listed Aqua Dots on its Web site as "out of stock online" and had removed the toy from its top toy list as well.
The arts and craft beads, aimed at children four years and older, have been selling since April at major U.S. retail stores as "Aqua Dots" and in Australia under the name "Bindeez Beads."
Toronto-based toy distributor Spin Master Ltd. stopped shipping the Aqua Dots toys and asked retailers to pull them off their shelves, where they had sold for $17-$30. Watch what's known about the beads »

More lead-paint toy recalls coming, source says
Melbourne-based Moose Enterprise Pty. Ltd. recalled the Bindeez toys on Tuesday after three children in Australia swallowed large quantities of the beads and were hospitalized.
"I was so frightened because I thought she wasn't going to make it," Heather Lehane told CNN affiliate Network 7 of her 10-year-old daughter, Charlotte, who was among those children.
In the United States, the Washington-based safety commission said it has in recent days received two reports detailing the severe effects of the digested beads.
The CPSC said a boy nearly two years old "swallowed several dozen beads. He became dizzy and vomited several times before slipping into a comatose state for a period of time." The toddler was hospitalized and has since "fully recovered," the commission added.
In the second incident, a child vomited, fell into a coma and was hospitalized for five days. It was not immediately clear whether the child had made a full recovery.
The recall is the latest to target Chinese-made toys. Last month, U.S. government safety officials and retailers voluntarily recalled at least 69,000 Chinese-made toys over concerns of excessive amounts of lead paint, which can cause lead poisoning. E-mail to a friend

Why stop w/toys? Best place to boycott is Walmart. 99% of their goods are from COMMUNIST China! Every dollar spent at Walmart is another $.50 for the red army. We have trade barriers w/Cuba and yet trillions in trade deficit with this country? No wonder they're the fastest growing economy while our dollar sinks to the bottom. Wake up people.

CHINA IS TRYING TO KILL OUR NEXT GENERATION!
I'm sure the Chinese factories sometimes share the blame, but often the problem on these recalls has nothing to do with them--the flaws are in the product design. But then a story comes out that mentions "Chinese-made" and it deflects responsibility from the companies right here in the US who designed the thing in the first place. The Chinese are just putting the stuff together as designed.
The huge toy recall a couple months ago that seemed to start this latest wave was blamed on lead paint being illegally used in Chinese plants. It wasn't true. Mattell spun that story and later had to admit that paint was not the issue--it was design flaws from Mattell.
I'm sure China puts out its share of crap on its own, but US corps need to be held accountable for their screw-ups and safety issues.

That's it. Blame it on the liberals. What an asshole thing to say. I'm a liberal and I've been complaining about this shit on this board for over four years. I've been complaining about the selling out of this country only to be told by conservatives that, "It's the FREE MARKET, FREE MARKET!"
It's only a free market if it's not being manipulated by those who use the free market mantra to convince the masses that we all benefit from their rigging of the system for their narrow self-serving interests.
Wake up and look at the real source of the problem. The Wall Street mentality of those money-grubbing corporate fascists on the right who want the world to revolve around speculation and the free money ethic instead of the work-ethic and around manipulation of the market instead of an honest market.
Liberals, my ass. More like greedy right wing corporate conservatives.

Yeah, they are all right wingers. You really are delusional sometimes. Believe me, there are just as many lefties running companies and in wall street as righties. I'm not delusional at all. I understand that all walks of life will leech off others. However, why does it always seem like the righties want to blame the "liberals" for everything? Even when right-wing ideology seems most responsible for this country's most recent screw-ups?
I'm getting tired of republicans and righties screwing up royally and still having the gall to blame somebody else. There's been a lot of power usurping going on and that has benefitted a lot of powerful entities in ways that have not benefitted the liberal cause. So yeah, I get irritated when "the liberals" are supposedly to blame for not only this country's current predicament, but also for undermining their own liberal values.
It's not the liberals who have caused this country's current predicament. It's the influential few who have decided to put wealth and power above the overall good of our country and we, the people. And their vehicle has been conservative republicans and others on the right, not liberals, IMO.

I've seen more on CNN and MSNBC that pisses me off than I agree with. For example, Glen Beck is an opportunistic bandier of hyperbolic name-calling.
How anyone can think that the corporately owned media is beating the bushes in order to expose the secrecy and corruption within this presidency as much as it did to pursue the extra-curricular activities of Bill Clinton, is a question everyone should ask his or herself.
Are reporters more activist? Sure. But are programming decisions more slanted toward the right and this administration's pro-corporate agenda? Yes.
The corporate media is one of the major reasons we were able to be sold on a phony bill of goods in Iraq. And its continual pimping of this administration's agenda will result in more profit for them but less freedom for us.

I love it when you spout off these vague generalities with zero substance to them. You have exactly the same amount of freedom you had the day Bush took office, whoops, actually you have more, since the Brady bill sunsetted.
It won't matter what political leanings you have when we're sitting in a Chinese re-education camp burning urine to keep warm and picking lice off each other.
While we, in America, snipe at each other, the Yellow Hordes are busily manufacturing billions of weaponized bras, buying out our economic infrastructure with our own debt, constructing moon bases, poisoning our kids, and opening up countless all-you-can-eat buffets designed to make us so obese that all a Chinaman has to do is fart real loud and the resulting coronary will drop us in our tracks.

After seeing a report on a TV manufactuing plant in some small town , USA being shut down due to its largest purchaser (walmart) going to china for the parts, I agree. They even had the nerve to use the plant structure for of al things, a friggin Walmart! Ok, now I've pissed myself off, here I go. First off, I haven't shopped at a Walmart in over 4 years. I refuse. They are killing mom and pop stores right and left, and they hire nothing but retards and offer crappy benefits. The last time I went to a Walmart, it was to "buy" a fishin pole to take on a canoe trip with the intent to return it as defective when I got back. It worked. What a bunch of fukups. Look at the losers that shop there. I challenge anyone to go there and start counting the people. See how many are overweight (I mean obese). See how many smell. See how many have like 4 or more dirty kids. Do we as Americans really want this image as our #1 retailer? No. Do Not Shop At Walmart. You are killing the USA when you do. If you shop there, you only have two excuses. 1. You are too freakin lazy to go a bit farther for a different place to shop. or 2. You are just plain ignorant. Any of you shop there? Why? Dont tell me cause its cheaper, that is a sellout.
