This is awesome! Now the mainstream candidates are lining up to copy our efforts.

For Fred Thompson, they are targeting November 21st:
National Day of Fred Giving (http://www.blogsforfredthompson.com/national-day-fred-giving-november-21-2007)

They're saying that since Ron Paul lacks support, and he raised $4 million dollars, surely they can blow this figure away.

Moneybags Mitt has done the same:
December 7th for Mitt (http://www.december7thformitt.com/)

Only instead of their supporters digging deep for a $100 spot, they're asking for $30 bucks. They've also taken an interesting copy-cat strategy. A lot of Ron Paul supporters took to selling stuff they had laying around the house on ebay and using the proceeds for donating to Ron Paul. This week, Mitt sent an email to his supporters begging them to do the same though their MittMarket (http://www.mittromney.com/MittMarket).

Makes me wonder why anybody would be motivated to donate to Mitt's campaign, when you know that all you're really doing is just putting the money he loaned himself back into his pocket.

And even better! They picked December freaking 7th! Ahahahahaha! What a bunch of morons! "Let's bomb again on the 7th! Pearl Harbor and Mitt Romney." They just picked a date out of a hat with absolutely no meaning whatsoever that can be tied into the campaign.

Then of course, we have Huckabee's sad attempt:

November 20th for the Children (http://nov20forthechildren.com/)

I love it! At least they picked a date for a reason but "for the children? Who put this together? A bunch of Democrats? Since when are conservatives motivated by pleas "for the children?" Typically, they see this as a ploy. What's conservative about this guy again? As far as I can tell, it's just that he was a minister, which isn't necessarily conservative.

Follow the leader baby!

Woo-Hoo! Boston, Rokks!
My old house was on the Freedom Trail!!!

Now if these top-tier guys can't get any people to text vote after a debate then I wonder how this will play out?

I think they just have the corp/pac donors.

I think they're going to get slaughtered, and questions are going to raise about how viable they really are for the primaries. If they can't beat Ron Paul's fundraising day, what hope do they have of beating him in a primary?

This is working out great.

OMG! Mitt's site has the Lincoln on it. Wonder if that means if us anti-war folks will be jailed or worse...shot? Or will printing presses be shut down?

Look at this one: The nerve of putting the Constitution behind him. Now that's stealing. Gotta admit whoever retouched his face, did a good job especially on getting rid of his under eye bags and achieving a rosy complexion. They shoulda' added his wife too.

Really? I guess Ron Paul is a thief too. I've got a Goldwater campaign button (among many others) on my wall with a picture of Barry over...the Constitution.

Edit- Looks like Goldwater ripped off old Al Smith. The button from his "American Liberty League" campaign against FDR also featured (gasp) the constitution.

Don't worry about him, Buc... As always, he's just looking to be snarky.

If I had the time I do some illustrated animations and put on YouTube. I was thinkin' of some titles like "Kool-Aid Festival" or "Kool-Aid Revue" done with smilie character candidates.

I'd love to do a old wooden ship and put all of us on it throwing a Tea Party. I'd put Patriot hats on all of us. We could make pat walk the plank or have a sword fight. Taco could be the leader and be a dancing Taco in a parade. Heh! Heh! So many ideas so little time.

I mean the thing is it's not like Fred is making the Constitution his message either. That's what so funny about it. I'm sure all the standard patriot images have been used and re-used in the past. The thing it is observable that some of these other candidates have been softening their hawk-talk and sounding a bit more like Paul. He is having some effect on the debate. They know it's working. They're just not the REAL thing. The ultimate phonies.

Wow! That was an awesome vid. I love the line " LiberTea!" Woo-Hoo!

Heh. RP is already over $180,000 for the day. (Although it's really no fair when they send out a fundraising request e-mail.)

Thompson's Money Bomb Bombs

Posted by Thomas Woods at November 21, 2007 09:19 PM

If Ron Paul can do it, we can, too, right? So went the reasoning behind "Fred's Giving Day," a copycat money bomb initiative that took place today. People were to pledge to donate $100 each today (sound familiar?).

As of this morning, the initative had garnered, I kid you not, a grand total of 82 pledges.

Two lessons from this:

1) No one gets excited about a boring establishment hack who parrots safe GOP slogans.

2) Since Ron Paul got tens of thousands of pledges and donations on his money bomb day, as opposed to Fred's 82, and since this lopsided grassroots fundraising victory over Thompson is even more pronounced than the usual Ron Paul Internet poll victory, might all those Ron Paul Internet poll victories have been for real after all?
