On a serious note, one of your buddies is probably f**king with you and has set up your computer with a locale that has right-to left typing.

No, I was typing fine, got off the computer for an hour to watch heroes, never left the computer out of my sight, came back and it was like that.

WTF, has ASCII changed or does DOS read ASCII diferently. Before Windows 95 introduced Windows Explorer, DOS would not allow you to create a directory name with a space in it, so we would make a directory and name it 'alt+255', which was ascii for space. We would then have a directory with no visible name, and no way for a non-techy type to open and we could hide all of our games other here. Several different ascii code lists show 32 as space, and 255 as underscore, so has it changed or did DOS not know what to do with an underscore?
