KU’s Collins will miss six weeks
The Kansas City Star

Kansas sophomore guard Sherron Collins will miss approximately six weeks after he underwent successful surgery on his left foot Monday.

“The surgery was performed to correct a stress fracture that came to light this morning when Sherron was x-rayed,” KU coach Bill Self said in a press release. “Sherron sprained his ankle last night (in KU’s 85-62 win against UMKC) and was very sensitive to touch after the game. The sprained ankle aggravated an existing stress fracture that required surgery.”

Through two games, Collins is KU’s leading scorer with a 16-point average for the fourth-ranked Jayhawks, 2-0.
