While I don't predict a KC road win, this is not going to be a walk in the park for Indy.

LOL I think they'll be pissed and overcome their injuries. A beat up, bad football team in the Donkeys beat us, and the Colts are better than the Donkeys even with their injuries.

Roger. More than a chance. We have a lot of things in our favor we didn't have in the playoff game last year. If we can rattle Manning a bit, we have a game. For some strange reason, this team rises to the occasion on the road and falls on its @$$ at home.

You have issues, Mr. KCJohnny. If we can't defeat this year's goats at Arrowhead, I wouldn't count on winning against the Colts.

The only trap we might see this weekend is Baron Leu Von Trap, the famed Bavarian ass kicker currently exiled to Bloomington.

Indy will overlook us and figure we can't score. The Donx game is incriminating but not season-defining. I think we make the Peytons squirm before they put us away. Who knows what optimis there is now in the KC lockerroom now that Brodie has been named the starter and that Freeny is officially out for the season?

Okay. I'm convinced. JA will get 4 sacks and send Manning to the showers with a testicle contusion. Law will get a pick and so will DJ. One of them will take it to the house. Brodie will connect with Bowe for two scores and Gonzo for 1. Priest will get a C-note and 1 touchdown on an outside sweep from the 25.

Uh, what I said was the Chiefs could steal one at Indy.
This is not the 13-3 Colts against the 6-10 Chiefs. We are still the Kansas City Chiefs. They are clearly banged up. We have a new QB and a much improved D over the one that frustrated Manning last year. All we made them do last January was stop LJ and then we basically quit. That will not happen this year.

Chiefs are notorious for playing down or up to the level of their competition. It drives me insane when a game like last Sunday happens. They should have kicked the shit out of Denver. If the oline had played marginal at best they should of racked up 130 or better on the ground. Had they pulled Huard at halftime and went with Croyle we wouldn't of lost. Nothing would warm my heart more than to take one from Indy by surprise this weekend. No other team in the league has stabbed us in the heart in the last decade as bad as the Colts. Even the Donks we at least beat from time to time, but Indy has done everything imaginable to trip up KC in the most despicible ways that can be done. And it's mostly been in playoff situations in front of a national audience.

Peyton WON'T have nearly as bad a game as that SD game, and Vinatieri PROBABLY won't miss any kicks. IF KC wants to have a chance to win this game, they will have to have a near-flawless game in all 3 aspects. If we can't do it against the Donks AT HOME, it seems like a reach to say we could do it IN Indy... but every game is different.

Brodie Croyle has a real chance here to PROVE he's the guy... While I EXPECT him to throw at least 3 picks, I'd love to see him torch these guys and give us some MOMENTUM going into the home-stretch.

1. Peyton on the bench CRYING (as he watches the time clock wind down) because he is handed another loss at home by the hands of this young gun.

2. Peyton getting Danny WuerffelED by Jared Allen and Derrick Johnson with a cleanup by Pollard.

The last two times we've played the Colts our defense has done a pretty good job. In the home game our defense held Manning down until late in the 3rd quarter. In the playoff game we held them to 9 pts in the first half - even with our defense on the field the entire time - and didn't play all that bad in the 2nd half.

The question is if our offense can score 20-30 pts or even at all in the first half. We can't go down 10-14 pts in the first quarter and expect to win this game...

While I don't predict a KC road win, this is not going to be a walk in the park for Indy.

then there's the fact a first time starter is playing for the chiefs, @ the RCA dome. On the other hand, we may be witnessing the beginning of the end of Manning's career. 6 picks? What was all that about? Maybe he isn't a freaking god after all and actually needs receivers who can catch and an oline that can block? Or, maybe he's come to rely on route timing so heavily that, when the receivers aren't 100% perfect in their routes, he looks average. Or, maybe there's something in his personal life that's distracting him. Like, maybe he lost his cell phone with those pictures of him and Bubba Franks from that night in San Luis Obispo.

Nope. I think Manning lost his cell phone.

They asked me how I knew
My true love was true
Oh, I of course replied
Something here inside cannot be denied

They said someday you'll find
All who love are blind
Oh, when your heart's on fire
You must realize
Smoke gets in your eyes

So I chaffed them and I gaily laughed
To think they could doubt my love
Yet today my love has flown away
I am without my love

Now laughing friends deride
Tears I can not hide
Oh, so I smile and say
When a lovely flame dies
Smoke gets in your eyes
Smoke gets in your eyes

A win would be real nice ... but Indy is probably mad as hell about last week ... 6 ints. isn't Colt-football .......

It is when you are missing your weapons and getting blitzed a lot. Manning's pics were largely because his back up receivers didn't speak Manningese.

I doubt we get even 3 INTs, but 2 seems doable. Ty Law owns Manning. The question is, can Brodie hook up with Bowe and Gonzo and then score in the RZ?

Or maybe the San Diego Chargers are who we thought they were.

No way. Their offense didn't do anything. LT is NOT the same. Manning threw 6 picks and Adam Automatic missed 2 firld goals and the Bolts barely won. They'll win the division, but I bet they don't finish better then 9-7 in the process.

Priest has 301 yds and 5 TDs vs Indy in 3 games.
He may keep them honest.
My keys to the game:
Croyle in the shotgun Priest in the passing game Gonzo always Bowe anyway we can get the ball in his hands Spread the ball around - every receiver needs to be involved Croyle will need to run for 1st downs when necessary Mug Reggie Wayne Put a spy on Addai Contain the perimeter on runs Hit Manning as much as possible Exploit Indy's ineffective STs

We need to start fast and aggressive...throw every down on the first series at least, dink and dunk down the field, and go for a few long bombs if possible. They need to play with abandon, like they have nothing to lose...cuz in a way they don't. If they lose this game, they are pretty much out of it, and even if they win there is a long road ahead. They need to play like this is the friggin' Superbowl and pull out all the stops.

Defense...Jared has to earn his future contract this Sunday. Law needs to earn his contract period. The young'uns on defense need to be hitting like crazy men...

...lots needs to happen. Most probably won't. I believe we can win, but I wouldn't bet on it...

Even if we lose, we need to blacken their eye, punch their gut and inflict serious damage.
This is a game to test whether Herm can get the boys motivated with the killer instict.

I think he can.

The Colts are reeling. Manning throws 6 INTs. Vinatieri misses 2 chip shots including the game winner. Indy was missing 2 OTs as well as Clark and Harrison. They started Craphonso Thorpe, which tells you how depleted the receiver corps is. Indy's STs gave up 2 TDs. We hung tough with them last year at home allowing only 23 points and that was before we had Boone and Harris and Donnie. Last year we just banged LJ into 9 man fronts for 3 quarters with the R2P2 offense. This year we have walking miracle Priest Holmes. Last year we had a diminished Trent Green at QB. This year we have a guy they have very little game tape on and probably not much of a scouting report. Freeny is out. Ty Law will study Manning's spoon-feeding of his inexperienced receivers and continue to haunt him. This could be a trap game for the Colts.
While I don't predict a KC road win, this is not going to be a walk in the park for Indy.

Hope you're right but not really expecting it.

It's decent considering how awful the blocking is.

Kickoffs are another matter. He's just too slow.

He's just too slow as in a whole. How can you be slow on kickoffs, yet overlook that on the punts?

Face it, Drummond is slow, and he's deftinaly not helping the special teams on this department. Time to make a change.

This could be a trap game for the Colts.

Excuse me for the rant, but this "trap game" crap has gone WAY too far... every freakin' game every week for every team is now a trap game. Does anyone even know what "trap game" means? For starters, a team either needs to have something to look forward to the next week and/or be cocky about themselves.

The Colts have lost two in a row.
Peyton Manning is coming off a 6-INT game (but still had 28 points in my fantasy week.. just don't do it again, m-kay?)
They are at home before going to Atlanta for Thursday Night Football 4 days later.
After that, they play Jacksonville.

How could the Colts not be focused going into this game? This is the OPPOSITE of a trap game, it's pretty close to "must win" for a team that's currently tied for the other first round bye.

OK. I personally give the Chiefs a -5% chance of winning the game. However, I didn't think the Chiefs could hang with SD, much less abuse them in their house. So, I'll play.

In order to win, the Chiefs need the following things to happen concurrently

Croyle needs to throw 0 INTs
RT needs to somehow pull their heads out of their rectums and stop Matheis (sp?)
Law needs to continue to own Manning. Preferrably for 6 or 12 points.
All gaps must be covered in the Run D. Addai has had some monster gaps to run through, and he has the speed and vision to really hurt us
Page/Brackenridge/whoever needs to shut down Dallas Clark. He is damn good.
SCORE POINTS. I don't care how. It just has to happen. We're not going to win with 13 points.
Hit Manning. Hard. A lot. I think most of Manning's INTs in SD were because of rain and they continued to pass. We're not going to get that lucky. We have to get in Manning's head with hits. He's pretty unflappable, so 1 won't do it.
Get some damn field position.

Anyway. If this doesn't happen all at the same time, it will take a miracle of God IMO. It would be nice to abuse em. But I don't see it.

Regardless, I will be screaming at the TV like it is the end of the world.

GO CHIEFS. :kc:

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this game will not be a blow but it will be a convincing win for the Colts. Here's why:

Colts are 25-30% better than the Chiefs. Colts come into this game probably at about 85% healthy. Chiefs are at 95. That still makes the Colts 15-20% better.

Man, I don't know why Vegas just doesn't call me first.

Here's the story of a kick ass wide out,
Who had tons of catches and he was all world.
They say he has hands of glue, not the dropsies,
And his hair's in curls.

Here's the story, of a man named Brodie,
Who could throw a football faster than a jet.
All he wanted was to score a lot of touchdowns,
And create a deep threat.

Well then one day when the wide out met this QB,
They all knew that it was much more than a hunch.
That this tandem would someday kick some colts' ass.
That's the way we all became the Brodie Bunch.
The Brodie Bunch, The Brodie Bunch.

That's the way they became the Brodie Bunch.

If we were to have a HC that knew how to play to win you would have at least one little butt monkey of your own at this time. I'm surprised that you didn't get a couple of them right a way due to how close the game was.

We outplayed them and should have won. I believe the confidence level of this team just took a huge strude forward. We will not face a tougher opponent than Indy at Indianapolis for the rest of the season. I see no reason why we can't run the table if we can play like this.
