View Full Version : Has the NFL reached parody?

After looking at the standings so far .... Currently almost half (15 out of 32 teams) of the NFL is 5-4 or 4-5. There are 6 teams at 5-4 and there are 9 teams at 4-5. If we use those as a barameter there are 8 teams below that line with 9 above that line. So with salary cap and free agents has the NFL reached their goal of parody?

Teams below 4-5 line:

Miami
NY Jets
St. Louis
Oakland
San Fransico
Cinncinnatii
Miami
Atlanta

Teams at 4-5:

Chiefs
Baltimore
Houston
Denver
Chicago
Philidelphia
Carolina
New Orleans
Arizona

Teams at 5-4:

Buffalo
Cleveland
San Diego
Washington
Tampa Bay
Seattle

Teams over 5-4 line:

Jacksonville
Tennessee
NY Giants
Detroit
Pittsburg
Indianopolis
Dallas
Green Bay
New England

Yes, I think it has reached parody.

But that's not exactly what you meant. :D

Parody? Maybe.

But with the way the Patriots are going so far, there seems to be less parity here. ;)

Parody, yes.

Parity, no.

For the most part, it does speak to parity. Except for, like, the Patriots. Everyone else is liable to lose at anytime. See: the Colts loss to Whale's Vagina last Sunday.

Every non-Patriots team is mediocre.

If this thread were a greek god, its name would be Parodius, and the only way to defeat it would be to cut off its homophone.

I see it more as a lampooning charade. Especially the officiating, but yeah.

Vince McMahon did a parody of the NFL, it didn't last though.

I think there is parody, because most of the time there are really good teams who get screwed because of injuries (i can think of the rams right now)

I don't think there's a single "dy" playing, let alone two. So, I'm going with no. There's no parody.
