Went to Old Chicago last night. Tried a 75th Raspberry Wheat. It was good.

Went shopping today. Ended up eating at the Rain Forest Cafe in the Oak Park Mall. Cool place. The Green Python helped to relax after driving today.

So, what should I do tonight? Recommendations?

Yes, it was a girly drink. It was really good though. I know it had citrus vodka, Midori melon liquer, some kind of coconut rum, banana liquer, and pineapple juice. It was $10, but I got to keep the glass. Good girly drink and a souvenir in one! :)

The reasons that leftists give for hating the West, etc. clearly do not correspond with their real motives. They SAY they hate the West because it is warlike, imperialistic, sexist, ethnocentric and so forth, but where these same faults appear in socialist countries or in primitive cultures, the leftist finds excuses for them, or at best he GRUDGINGLY admits that they exist; whereas he ENTHUSIASTICALLY points out (and often greatly exaggerates) these faults where they appear in Western civilization. I lived in Midtown for years while I was at UMKC, still love that part of the city. As far as downtonw goes, I'm a little disappointed, it bittersweet. The bulk of the character has been stripped away, but it is nicer, at times its no different than hanging out in OP with all the scenesters and posers. I think bittersweet is what I'm in for as well. I am really happy if it helps the city thrive, but Downtown after dark was a big, empty, kind of spooky playground when I was a teenager, and I will remember it that way. Hopefully there is enough good to come of it. I was thinking of looking for a house on the edge of downtown to rehab, but I hear people are already snapping them up.

Hit Seven on Walnut for the drinks, Nara on Main for some excellent sushi and Kobe beef. As far as houses go, look at Columbus Park just west of the River Market around the original Garozzo's, it's the next phase of the development.

I was pleasantly surprised by the food the one time I ate there but I'd much prefer the food at Houlihans which is right next door. Maybe eat at Houlihans (don't miss the stuff mushroom appetizer) and catch dessert/drinks at the 810Z. On second thought, dessert is incredibly cheap (and good) at Houlihans. The gay one is up the street. The Grand Emporium is a Kansas City classic if you like Jazz, Blues, or Rock n Roll. When I first moved to KC I saw War at the GE, in recent years I've seen Deeds Of Flesh there (br00tal Death Metal) and Reverand Horton Heat, it's definitely not the place to go if you want to dance.
