Kennison to handle punt returns, Webb on kickoffs

I see a release in the future of Eddie Drummond.

Well, lets hope that Webb sucks less, can't suck more without fumbling.

Glad Drummond is out, but EK returning punts makes me nervous, considering he's been battling a hammy all year.

Sippio needs to return punts, he's good for at least 2 TD's back there.

I'd rather we have kept Phinesse than Hall.

Yeah, because a 30yr old washed up KR who has missed half the games this year is more important to the future of this franchise than another 5th round pick.

must not plan on any punts today
just pick 6s

I don't think Drummond was hired to be a `quick-score` threat. At the time; we were looking for good hands that made good decisions with little mistakes. He provided that. But I'd agree, he needs to go. But not sold on the fact that he didn't do what was asked of him.

Based on his previous NFL performance, Bob Dole will have to say PUT DOWN THE CRACK PIPE.

I don't know why we ever signed Drummond. We would have gotten equal production out of a piece of driftwood.

Because he looked good the entire preseason, where Drummund has looked like crap ever since he's been here. Not to mention that Dante's not exactly made waves over in Rams country.

Derrick Johnson is NOT inactive. At least not according to KcChiefs.com.

Pre-Game, 11:32 AM (ET)
Its 90 minutes until game time and you know what that means…today’s inactives are in.

KC: RB Larry Johnson, CB Rashad Barksdale, LB Pat Thomas, T Will Svitek, T Kyle Turley, WR Eddie Drummond and LB Kendrell Bell are all down. QB Tyler Thigpen will server as the club’s 3rd QB.

Yeah he's been hurt. When he was playing other than that muffed punt he's was returning the ball pretty well.

It's just that to me:

young promising kick returner +5th round draft pick > old declining kick returner

as with everything Chiefs, better late than never

he was the maybe the most pointless returner I've ever seen

I would agree but the problem with you formula is that Drummond does not fit the "young promising kick returner" definition.

Nah. Getting rid of Hall was a good move. Signing Drummond, OTOH, was a low-cost mistake.

Our blocking has been pretty bad, too. We should overhaul ST next year.

But Drummond has also made a slew of bad decisions. He deserves to be cut. I still would like to see us sign Phinisee off the Rams' PS.

You didn't read the entire conversation. I was arguing that I would have rather kept Phinisse over Hall.

Webb is bound to look like Superman by comparison today. Getting to the 25 will seem like a monumental accomplishment.

Hall = Drummond with extra dance moves. At one time, he was a great returner, but time passed him by. I hope they cut Drummond in the near future. He is a total waste of good air.

Can't disagree with you here. Heck, I drafted Phinisee in a FF league that includes kick returner as a specific position. Of course then i was really stupid and replaced him with Drummond. :banghead:
