Bolts choke.
Raiders stink.
Invescos have a tough one at home against Tennessee tomorrow night.

We are no worse than 1 game out of first place.

I think we have something to build on for the final 6 contests.

In fact, we can run the able with a little luck:

I think the Titans run for 200 yards Monday night.
The Invescos are 2-3 at home this year.

8-8 with about 47 tie breakers might win the AFC Worst.

If the team that wins this division has a worse record than a team that misses the playoffs it's going to be an embarassment.

Well, let's see...

every other division punks the AFCW and then we punk each other.

7-9 with a LOT of tie-breakers might get a home game in the playoffs against an 11-5 team

Go figure...

:hmmm:

We could always go 7-9 and have some team with 10 or 11 wins like Jacksonville kick our ass at Arrowhead again.

I see this going down to week 17 and will be decided by tie breakers.

If the Invescos beat the Titans, we're mathematically still in it, but will need help.

If we get to 6-6 in 2 weeks, anything is possible.

We're gonna be 6-6 in two weeks...I have no doubt.

Then we'll find a way to blow it in grand Chiefs tradition. A homecoming meltdown against Herm's old team on the last night of the regular season would be hilarious.

I think we might struggle in Detroit. None of the other games really worry me.

This team hasn't really been soundly beaten this year. I would say that all 6 losses we beat ourselves.

Bumping this up to talk about the division. If Denver loses tonight, we're still in the hunt. If they win, it might be tough sledding for us to make a run.

I know, I know, this is NOT a playoff team. Those looooong cold winter months between our last game and training camp are awful when you don't play in the post season.

It was our worst loss of the year, granted. I still say its what we didn't do right as opposed to what they did do right. They scored 17 points. Whoop dee doo. Our O is a joke and the whole NFL knows it. Jax's D is good but we just laid down and let them roll us in that game. No imagination whatsoever.

I think head-to-head and div record are the primary tie-breakers. I believe we are on pace to score less points than any Chiefs team ever.

We are on pace for about 205 points. I don't think we scored that few points even during the 14 game seasons in the 60s.

I don't think 8-8 is going to cut it. SD should get to 9-7. They are 5-5 now. They should beat Oakland, Denver and Baltimore and will likely lose at KC and Tenn. Detroit is played in SD. Depending on which Lions team shows up, SD will be sitting at 8-8, at least, 9-7 more than likely.

I agree in theory. If the football gods behave, SD is clearly the most talented team in the AFCW. However, we have all seen this script before: Norv runs a team into the ground. I really think the wheels are going to come off. I'm more concerned about the donks. We hosed ourselves bigtime by choking at home to these pretenders. Now they hold the tie breaker. Here's what I see:

Den: 8-8 (holds tie-breaker)
KC: 8-8
SD: 7-9
Oak: 4-12

Now keep in mind we have only lost 1 divisional game. If we can beat Oak, SD and Den we will be 5-1 in the AFCW and pretty much hold all tie breakers. Problem is we have to beat Den in Pile High. Losing at home has killed us this year. Of course, yesterday showed the world that KC can play well on the road, too. So who knows?

I'm not so excited about the chances of any team from this division doing anything.

This year a 7-9 team went to the Arena League Championship.

The AFCW is deplorable, but it probably helps Shanny and Norv more than Herm to win the DIV. If KC wins the AFCW it will be a case of the division being dumbed down to Herm's level, not him leading KC in victory over div rivals.

Somebody has to win. I just don't see the Bolts staying together. When we beat them in 2 weeks at Arrowhead, we could be tied for the DIV lead with tie-breakers over SD. I am much more concerned about the donkeys.

Oh sure, sure. But the fact that a 2-8 team is not eliminated from the divisional championship race speaks volumes.

I have been watching this game a long time and I can't remember the last time a 2-8 team was still (mathematically) 'in the hunt'.

Line of the week!

Denver is 5-5 with the remaining schedule:

@ Bears
@ Raiders
vs Chiefs
@ Texans
@ Chargers
vs Vikings

Every road game is problematic with this team, they're not consistent enough for my liking... Those last 4 games could be a bit brutal. KC always plays 'em tough ... Houston has AJ and Schaub back, SD is tough at home and the Vikings... not sure, they run the ball well and have a nice defense.

Six games and I have no idea how to project 'em, I mean this is a team that has won @ KC and they defeated the Steelers, yet they get blown out by the Lions and won 3 early thanks to Elam.

I dunno.

Well Phil, I figure it like this: a lot of guys will be returning in '08 and some will not. For those who will return, they need to see a committment to a championship. Period. That begins with trying to win this year, now. I'm not sold that Herm has that killer instict. For now, he reminds me of the guy that is standing around trying to play it cool hoping you'll beat yourself. I am a Soldier; we can't fight wars that way. Just won't work.
