Sure, we have a few days to go but preparation is the key. I know there are some great culinary minds here on the Planet and I always enjoy reading everyone's ideas, suggestions and recipes. Some adult beverage recommendations would also be helpful.

I'll be brining and roasting my turkey using the Alton Brown method. I've done this for about 5 years now with a nice quality fresh turkey. Hasn't failed to please. Here is a link.

Our menu will be something like this:

Aforementioned turkey

Sausage stuffing

Oyster stuffing

Mashed taters & giblet gravy

Red chili

Green chili stew

Ratatouille (daughter loved the movie so I learned how to make it...good stuff)

Green beans & carrots

Cranberry sauce

Sweet taters

Waldorf salad (hate it but there's no accounting for taste)

Pie, pie, plenty of pie

Fruit salad, the 4 y/o's contribution to the meal.....I'll do the cutting.

I started tonight making my brine liquid, should be passed out by 9:00 Thursday night, have to work Friday and Saturday. But hey, I enjoy the time with the family.

Real men roast animals. Why trust such important work to the women? Let them tend to the salad, I say.

Fry. It allows you to be outside or in garage, drink your beer, and be away from women.
